Set in the idyllic countryside overlooking the Malvern hills, Winterfold’s forty acres encompass beautiful grounds, gardens and sports fields.

There is a relaxed, happy atmosphere at Winterfold. Following their time at Nursery, children start in Kindergarten 1 and move through the year making firm friendships, progressing to Kindergarten 2 and Reception. Children learn through play and where a child is ready, more structured learning opportunities are put in place. At Winterfold, children have the added benefit of a teacher and assistants from a young age.

By September, the Kindergarten will have undergone a complete refurbishment, with a new seating area and separate space for eating. There will be an outside play area for messy play, home corner and quiet area, the children will have use of an ActivPanel and the room will have completely new furnishings.

There is also a newly developed Forest School with a huge pond in which children can do pond dipping, a shelter for activities, fire pit and bird hide. Plans are afoot to plant an orchard and woodland of which the children will be an integral part, as they watch the trees they have planted grow with them - a lasting legacy.

Headmistress Denise Toms said “The pre-school years are an important time in children’s lives when they first learn how to interact with other children, teachers and parents and begin to develop their own interests. By introducing the 30 free hours, we are able to broaden the access to a Winterfold education.”

Winterfold provides excellent pastoral care which develops fulfilled, happy and successful children, who leave the School as confident young people, ready to face senior school and the wider world.
