Security/Receptionist (Alliance Francais 20222023)
I was responsible for the security of the building. I was also the de facto receptionist helping any of the students or staff with queries. I learned to problem solve and deal with tense situations.
Waiter (Johnnie Foxes Dublin 2019)
I worked as part of a waiter team to serve up to 200 people in go as part of the Hooley show. I delt with a high stress environment and learned how to navigate tense situations with customers and staff.
Work experience (O’Mahony pike Architects
Dublin 2017)
As part of work experience for secondary school
I got the opportunity to spend some time with O’Mahony Pike Architects. I was taught AutoCAD and Sketchup and was given a house extension to design. It was a hypothetical project but gave me a good understanding of what different stages are in a project and how to navigate issues or regulations.
I am a fresh Interior Architecture graduate (NFQ level 8 - Honours bachelor’s degree) from Griffith Col-lege, passing the final project with first class honours. I have a strong appetite to learn, work and better myself. I love the process of design and the challenges it presents. My favourite aspect is working with others as part of a team and working on 3D software’s like Revit and 3DS Max.
During my time at Griffith, I have developed a number of hard skills. These include, 3D visualisations, 2D drawings and detail design. I have also developed many soft skills. Through working in groups, I devel-oped my communication skills, leadership, adaptability, creativity, and teamwork. During the individual projects I developed my time management, patience, organisation, problem solving and confidence.

This project is to design a community space at Block G of Capital Dock. The building is located beside grand canal dock which is home to many office buildings and apartment blocks. The space accommodates the people in the area & comprises of 5 functions. These include a cafe, indoor garden, exhibition space, dance/music room and a charity clothing shop.
The client required a universal design approach for people of all ages. Diversity and inclusion should always be considered. The main drivers for the design were the site and sun location, but also the concept of the project. Concrete oasis came from the site visit. I walked along the canal to Capital Dock. Arriving at Capital Dock it felt as if I was greeted by a concrete jungle. Walking further towards the building I was greeted by what felt like an oasis amidst the concrete jungle. A square with greenery, seating, people laughing having a coffee and live music. That feeling of the square is what I wanted to bring into the project.`
This area was the specialty coffee area. It centred around the idea of community and inclusivity. I wanted to not only bring the workers in the area together but also people from outside. That includes old, young, wheelchair users. The bespoke three height counter represents that in a physical form.
It was important to integrate the building better in its surroundings as well. Simply changing the colour from red steel to a sand colour achieved this.

This project involves adaptive reuse of The Red Stables in St. Anne’s Park to Residential Apartment Houses and community space. The client, Dublin City Council require a Universal Design approach, and a community space, suitable for the community and the residents of the new apartments. The community space should have contemporary feel and combine comfort and leisure for the both the guests, local visitors and passing traffic. The client wishes to have long-term design thinking applied to your design detailing the long- term impact of your decisions and the role you play in shaping the future through design. The client also wants a focus on conservation within the design. The buildings history is important and should be respected. There will be a new interactive piece designed for the courtyard, however, the interactive piece should not take away from the image of the building when looking through the gates on the south side.
With the brief outlining a Universal design approach and the clients of the apartments being the elderly, it was important to incorporate this in the design. The reception desk incorporated the two heights which comply with both Part M of the building regulations and the NDA requirements for Universal design. The shape of the desk was brought out from the sketches in the concept development stage and the materials were drawn out of the concept and the site characteristics.

This project explores the re-use of the chocolate factory on Kings inns street. It will be re-used to accommodate a multi-disciplinary collaborative and hybrid working space in a post covid working world. It mainly focused on designers, but also included a brewery. The hope was to give a healthy and happy workspace that encourages collaboration among disciplines. The most important aspect of this project was researching designers and finding out their needs. I interviewed graphic designers, product designers, brewers and more to get a true understanding of the needs of each.
The brief was to design something unique with the tRACK shelving system. I designed an automated reception desk with built in screens for navigation and information on the building, storage boxes for deliveries and a lower screen for wheelchair users to make it part M compliant. The shelves at the top also allow for an opportunity for the resident artists and designers in the building to showcase their work. I used the design in my chocolate factory project.
