Ladies and gentlemen, sportswomen and sportsmen, the Peace Race has a long tradition in the region and I am pleased that it yet again continues this year. It is a prestigious event, which brings top athletes from all over Europe, together with fans of road cycling, to our region. I would like to pay tribute to all the riders who will take part in this demanding sporting event. The organisers of the race and last but not least the fans too deserve our thanks for a job well done. They all create the unique atmosphere that is typical for the Peace Race. The Olomouc Region is a proud partner of this event, and a great fan. Every year, the Regional Authority tries to support sports in various ways, with an emphasis on healthy physical activities for children and young people. Maybe in a few years, some of them will also stand on the starting line of the Peace Race and we will root for them, just like today we root for you. I wish all the participants of the Peace Race that they reach the finish line in the shortest possible time and, above all, in good health. The spectators have a lot to look forward to, and if they want to, they can get on their bikes and head to the Olomouc Region too. They will certainly not regret it. Vážené dámy a pánové, sportovkyně a sportovci, Závod míru má v regionu dlouhou tradici a mě těší, že bude pokračovat i letos. Jde o prestižní akci, díky které do našeho kraje zamíří špičkoví sportovci z celé Evropy společně s fanoušky silniční cyklistiky. Rád bych složil poklonu všem jezdcům, kteří se náročného sportovního podniku zúčastní. Poděkování za skvěle odvedenou práci si zaslouží také organizátoři závodů a v neposlední řadě fanoušci. Ti všichni vytváří jedinečnou atmosféru, která je pro Závod míru typická. Olomoucký kraj je hrdým partnerem sportovní akce a zároveň i jejím velkým fanouškem. Hejtmanství se každý rok snaží podporovat sport různými způsoby, důraz přitom klade hlavně na zdravý pohyb dětí a mládeže. Možná, že někteří se za pár let také postaví na startovní čáru Závodu míru a stejně jako dnes vám, budeme pak držet palce i jim. Přeji všem účastníkům Závodu míru, aby v co nejkratším čase, a hlavně ve zdraví úspěšně dorazili do cíle. Diváci se mají na co těšit, a pokud budou chtít, mohou šlápnout do pedálů a vyrazit do Olomouckého kraje také. Určitě nebudou litovat. Josef Suchánek, Hejtman Olomouckého kraje
