Michael Sherfick Biography A diverse range of personal and professional experiences characterize the life of Michael Sherfick. As a business leader, inventor, law enforcement professional, real estate developer, and film industry executive, Michael has earned a reputation for his unflinching work ethic. He has approached every project in his career as one where he could apply his talents to the best of his abilities. Today, Michael lives and works in the greater Indianapolis metro area of Indiana, where he currently works as the President and CEO of an industry-leading laboratory testing equipment manufacturer called Duratech. Law Enforcement Work Michael Sherfick was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. Once he graduated from high school, he joined the U.S. Army in 1988 as a medic. Following that, he delved deeply into the world of law enforcement. He first took on a position with the Rocky Ripple Police Department, serving as a deputy town marshal. In 1996, Michael was sworn in as a Deputy Constable for Lawrence Township, Indiana, under the leadership of Constable Robert Bowser III. After serving with Lawrence Township for two years, he got the opportunity to join forces with the Boone County Sheriff’s Department in Indiana. He began there as a sheriff’s deputy and eventually rose in ranks to the title of Captain by 2005. During this time, he co-worked with the Perry Township Constable’s Office, also in Indiana. Under the guidance and leadership of Constable Roy Houchins, Michael finished his career with the rank of Major. At different points during his law enforcement career, Michael had the opportunity to train new personnel as a field training officer (FTO). His carefully-developed knowledge of community policing policies and his commitment to serving the communities where he lived helped new officers understand the vital roles they played, giving them an important foundation of dedication and compassion. Inventions and Entrepreneurship A full and successful career as a law enforcement official may be enough for others, but for Michael, new challenges awaited. His first business venture came when he invented the “soft loop” strap system for industrial tiedown applications. This revolutionary solution in tiedowns propelled him to establish Fast Track Technologies in 2001. The company’s primary product at the time was The Easy Strap, a patented ratcheting tiedown system that quickly gained prominence across industrial applications such as trucking, agricultural, manufacturing, and military industries. Michael licensed the design patent to other companies and spurred innovation in this market category. His next venture involved commercial real estate development. He founded the investment firm known as Securifind Mortgages and Investments, Inc. prior to his work with Fast Track Technologies. For a period of ten years, Securifind specialized in providing home mortgages and business development loans to clients. Next, he established CCMT Financial in a partnership with real estate investors. The goal of CCMT was to revitalize the urban areas in Indianapolis, including condominium projects in Indianapolis’ downtown center as part of the group called Indiana Residential Renovations, Inc. Today, despite a busy workload in several different ventures, Mr. Sherfick still works in commercial real estate development. In addition to his leadership at Duratech, he is the President and CEO of 3% holdings. This company concentrates on developing commercial and mixed-use properties in and around the city of Indianapolis. Sales Experience
