Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Embraces Innovation
Michael Presley has been serving as an attorney in the Florida region since he was admitted to the state bar in 1980. He has been especially interested in health care law and also serves as the CEO and chief risk officer of United MSO of America, LLC.
One of Michael Presley’s major accomplishments as an attorney was working with the Miami Children’s Hospital (now called Nicklaus Children’s Hospital) to recover nearly $10 million in what had previously been labeled bad debt.
Nicklaus Children’s Hospital is renowned for pediatric care in a wide range of specialty areas. The hospital has embraced innovative technology to serve its patients better and was recently named 2017’s Most Wired hospital by the American Hospital Association.
The hospital has embraced innovation through emerging technologies like telehealth and remote monitoring. Additionally, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital’s research organization, Miami Children’s Health System, recently invested in a company that automates clinical trial data called Aces Health. Integrating the automated system may help the hospital’s research arm improve the speed of clinical trials and save money that can be put towards more research later.
