TAKING STEPS TOWARDS KNOWLEDGE CAMBRIDGE, MASSACHUSETTS As the new headquarters for the Institute for the American Federation of Writers, the project focuses on providing a place in which writers and scholars can facilitate the accumulation, production, and dissemination of knowledge. The project begins to connect the separated public and private programs through a continuous circulation, providing social spaces between public and private programs. The grand staircase connects the public spaces, allowing scholars to accumulate and disseminate knowledge, while the private spaces have its own vertical circulation, allowing scholars to produce writings and works of art in their respective offices and apartments. The ground floor is also open to the general public, welcoming students and professors from the university across the street.

HOUSE OF PROJECTIONS FLORENCE, ITALY The House of Projection lies on a narrow site and open to the water of the Arno River. The project consists of two vertical volumes inhabiting an extrovert and introvert twin that collect movie cameras. The narrow site and the vertical volumes begin to define a central courtyard from which the projection of movie theaters can be seen. The project contains 4 movie theaters each designed for a specific audience, whether it is by themselves, with a date, a group of people or with the public. Each theater and its display are designed to be their own object that are placed around the central courtyard.

ROOSEVELT ISLAND FERRY TERMINAL ROOSEVELT ISLAND, NEW YORK CITY After the destruction of Hurricane Sandy, architects began to put in much effort in re-thinking the waterfront to withstand future natural disasters. In this case, Roosevelt Island is in danger from both sides of the island, given its location of being in the middle of the East River. In rethinking the waterfront, the project focuses on redesigning the landscape of the island using a geometric module derived from the preexisting forms on site. The new landscape is designed with the means of connecting the Four Points Monument and the new Cornell Campus, all the while embracing the views of the city. Its contribution to society also includes a ferry terminal from which people can commute from the island, making the island more appealing to live.

SOCIAL COLLECTIVISM DETROIT, MICHIGAN The Slow Roll Event is a social phenomenon in which people from all walks of life meet at a specific venue and take a unique route throughout the city, showcasing the historic sites and any major or minor areas the city is so proud of. As the new headquarters of the ever-growing business, the project focuses on the concept of social collectivism in which the event attracts people from different backgrounds, including ethnicities, age, and gender. Each public program has its own social space which then collectively becomes a bigger space for people to interact with each other. The upper floors are then connected by the centralized auditorium that serve as the main social space for workers from different branches of the business to interact and socialize.
