USING DAYMAP Grades and Marks: Summative Assessment Check out the
Daymap Mandatory Tasks
Best : Create grades and marks for every Assessment Task. This generates a GPA and an
accurate weighted total (percentage) in your Gradebook.
Add an Assessment Rubric, with marks for each criterion ( the sum of the marks
allocated to each criterion should match the total marks assigned to the task). Marking the rubric then generates a grade for GPA. OK: Create grades only for every Assessment Task in a subject. This generates a GPA but no weighted total in your Gradebook. This is fine for wholistic assessment of Achievement Standards. Best not… Create a marks only assessment task. Marks only assessment tasks generate a weighted total in your Gradebook but no GPA data Create marks and grades for one task and grades only for another task in the same subject. A mixture of marks and grades and grade only assessment tasks will generate an inaccurate (and useless) weighted total. Publish a task to students without creating Daymap extensions for ungraded students (or removing students from the task). This will generate 0% for that student in the GPA calculation.
