Heavenly Father, we thank You because You are the giver of life.

Today, we celebrate the life and spirit of Reuben Dy Tiapco.

Whilst we grieve for loved ones, we are assured that our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Lord Jesus Christ.

As we pass through this life, we celebrate the life of Reuben Dy Tiapco, knowing that one day You shall transform their lowly body that it may be conformed to Your glorious body.

Thank You Father for this life, Amen.

Family Memories I am reminded of my Uncle Rudy from a quote by Pearl S. Buck, "To serve is beautiful, but only if it is done with joy and a whole heart and a free mind."

My Uncle Rudy’s love language was Acts of Service. He found delight in taking care of his siblings, and their growing families, doing simple things to make them feel loved. ...He always thought of others. He showed me that serving others can be a beautiful thing, because it can bring you joy and fill your heart and free your mind of worries.

Reuben, my big brother, played an important role during my school days, even being my hero. He was simply fun to be with esp. before we moved to Manila. It was then that I saw him making slingshots and using them around my grandma's property where we lived. He created Filipino lanterns for our home, he invented a cannon made of bamboo trunks and I would sit outdoors with him as he operated it. We rejoiced when it boomed loudly during New Year's Eve. He invented a chess set made of hard cardboard! I learned to play chess with him! And he , sketched and drew very well too!

He had a big heart: upon my graduation in high school, he gave me a red autograph book which I then proudly had my classmates fill in. Rudy, you did acts of thoughtfuness, you were kind and loving until the end.

Family Memories He was always thoughtful, generous with one of a kind gifts & knickknacks, remembers birthdays, Would visit you & leave a gift that he didn't tell you about, like a vase or something, toys, candies, etc Always helpful if you ask him, the go-to-guy in his Senior Apt bldg., ran errands for the seniors or repair items for them He used to assemble & disassemble our stereo, radio, etc. We would get upset because we couldn't get a nice looking, decent one because he would add antennae, etc.

If you left him home by himself, you would come home with smooth slide drawers, new small shelf, anything he thought you need...

-he played with the kids -gentle soul -everyone loved him -never selfish Like Bong said he bought us toys with his first salary Ruby Chow, Reuben's baby sister
