Residence Residence LifeLife Programming Staff STAFF Our Residence Life Staff consists of full and part-time professional staff assigned to each Residence Halls. Residence Directors and Resident Assistants work with students throughout the day as well as during evening office hours. Members of our Residence Life staff are on-call for emergencies at all time.

RESIDENT DIRECTOR The Residence Director works as a full-time, live-in staff member and is the direct supervisor of the Resident Assistants. This person is responsible for the daily administration of the Residence Halls, addressing facilities concerns, resolving student conduct violations, program planning and serve as a resource for residents within the halls.

RESIDENT ASSISTANTS Resident Assistants (RA) are student leaders who live within the residence halls. Resident Assistants facilitates the development of a positive and safe living environment within the Residence Halls. There is an RA on every floor of the residence hall and they work hard to get to know each and every one of their residents.

PUBLIC SAFETY The Department of Public Safety employs a full staff of public safety officers who serve our community 24 hours a day, 365 days a year while maintaining a close relationship with the local Police Department and other local officials. RESIDENCE HALL ASSOCIATION The purpose of Resident Hall Association (RHA) is to provide a platform for the expression of resident issues and concerns; provide community service, educational, and social programming for all residents; recognize the contributions of students, faculty, and staff to the betterment of living in university. Resident students are encouraged to participate in this association to advocate for student success and advancement.

Residence Life Programming Through programming, we provide a sense of home to a diverse student population.

Our residence life staff are intentional in hosting both educational and social programs that build a vibrant and inclusive community. Through constant programming, you are able to meet residents, staff and create lifelong long memories. We create communities built on a culture of respect and compassion.

Residents were treated to free donuts and coffee to help fuel up for exams!

Time Management

Resident Assistants understand how busy students can be becuase they are students themselves! This program focused on helping students balance their academics, social life, and cocurriculars!

2K20 Tournament Some programming is meant just help residentsrelax, have fun, and make friends in the community! This video game tournament was a big hit and did just that!

Themed Housing First Year Floors Conolly Hall’s first-year residence floors are located between the 10th and 14th floor. Students utilize the First-Year Lounges located at the center of the floors to hang out and make new friends. In addition, the residence life team will host programming throughout these floors to initiate connections, build community, and build key academic skills for increase academic success.

Honors Housing Honors Community The Honors community is located in Conolly Hall. This knowledge community will have access to a residential curriculum aimed at building key academic success skills, creating study cohorts, building faculty relationships, and developing a community.

Dining Options Sharkbite Cafe Students enjoy all-you-care-to-eat dining in a contemporary dining room complete with a curved glass wall. This location offers cutting-edge American entrees, ethnically-inspired foods, vegetarian selections and lots more!

Peets Coffee And Tea

Peet's offers premium products that bring the great LIU Dining experience to the next level. Coffee is roasted in small batches with the freshest beans to ensure high quality, optimal flavor and aroma.

This fully functional cafe' also offers a variety of artisanal sanwhiches, salads, baked goods and quick snacks!

Freshens Cafe' Conviently located in the center of campus, Freshens Cafe' serves a variety of smoothies, frozen yogurts, and fresh salads. Freshens also serves up delicious hot and cold wraps and sandwiches, as well as some of the best grilled flatbreads in around.

Meal Plan Options Meal Plan 1 allows you unlimited, all-youcan-eat access to Sharkbite Cafe'. You will be able to find everything from breakfast to soups and sandwiches. This plan also includes $300 Dining Dollars for use at any facility on campus.

Rate: $2,866 *All first year residential students are required to enroll in meal plan 1.

Meal Plan 2 includes 14 meals per week at Sharkbite plus $300 Dining Dollars for use at any dining facility on campus.

Rate: $2,629 Meal Plan 3 includes 10 meals per week at Sharkbite plus $300 Dining Dollars for use at any facility on campus Rate: $2,381

As a supplemental option, students may add $200 in dining dollars to their plan before the add/drop date and have it billed to your student account.Dining dollars can be used at any campus eatery.

Residence Hall Options Overview

The Residence Halls are located just steps away from the Barclays Center, top arts venues like the Brooklyn Academy of Music, hip restaurants and boutiques, and one of New York’s premier dessert destinations, Junior’s.

Our beautifully landscaped 11-acre campus offers security and tranquility amidst the hustle and bustle of New York City.

LIU Brooklyn was ranked the third-safest campus in the nation and the safest in New York City by the Daily Beast.

All residence areas offer free internet options and cable, study lounges, recreation rooms, TV lounges, laundry rooms, mail rooms, 24 hours/day security officers, and dedicated professional and paraprofessional staff.

Conolly Hall Richard L. Conolly Hall is a 16 story building that offers standard residence hall rooms with a shared bathroom, suites which come equipped with a private bathroom and apartment spaces which come equipped with a private bathroom and a kitchen. All rooms include an extra-long twin sized bed, desk, desk chair, dresser, wardrobe unit/closet, and AC. Conolly students can enjoy the convenience of dining in the Sharkbite Cafe' right on the first floor of the building.

490 Fulton Graduate students are provided the option of living in our apartment-style Residence Hall, 490 Fulton St., just a short walk from campus. 490 Fulton features fully furnished four, five, and six bedroom apartments units. Utilities, cable, internet, heat, and air conditioning are included in your rent. The building has numerous study suites, spacious gaming and recreation areas where you can watch videos or play video games on one of our many flat screen televisions, shoot pool, or surf the web in our computer lounge.
