• The New York City. This cycle consists of six works. The text in the title is a link to the history literacy, as it marks the place from which in 1933 two Lithuanian heroes Steponas Darius and
Stasys Girenas started their flight across the Atlantic Ocean. Also the numbers of each title signify different moments of the take-off, taken out from the film called “Skrydis per Atlantą”, 1983(“The Flight Across the Atlantic Ocean”,1983). So the whole cycle is about the take-off moment and the fact that a person who is literate can understand this artwork as a message about the importance of this phenomenal flight. Though an individual who doesn’t know anything about the flight, can just look at this landscape and the whole “take-off” idea becomes about his own pursuit of perfection.
