CLASS VISITS AND EVENTS
Class visits, storytelling for classes and book selection take place throughout the school year.
Events programmed for schools include author visits, creative writing, bookclubs, coding, robotics, lego workshops, World Book Day, World Poetry Day, Seachtain na Gaeilge, Engineer’s Week, October Book Festival, Science Festival, and seasonal events.
Sligo Library Summer highlights include:
● Cruinniú na nÓg – a day of free creativity for children and young people takes place annually in June with events in all Sligo Library branches.
● Summer Stars – summer reading programme to encourage library visits and reading for leisure during summer months. Free events and rewards to collect during the programme, with medals and certificates at the end.
TEACHER’S CARD
Teachers’ Cards are available from all Sligo Library branches and can be used to borrow for your class.
New Teachers who do not have a Teacher’s Card can request one in their nearest Sligo Library branch.
40
Up to 40 items can be borrowed on a Teacher’s Card for a 12 week loan period.
Teachers are requested to renew/return items to the Library after the 12 week loan period.
