A Message From The Executive Director
Dear Friends and Supporters,
As we close the chapter on 2024, I am filled with immense gratitude for the generosity, dedication, and support that you—our community of donors, volunteers, and partners—have shown throughout the year. Your unwavering belief in our mission has enabled us to make a profound impact in the lives of those who needed us most.
This year, we achieved remarkable milestones together:
Through our food pantry, mobile distribution, senior delivery program, and special DISD initiatives, we distributed over 650,000 pounds of food, providing critical nourishment to individuals and families across our community.
We served a total of 10,085 households and supported 941 new families, ensuring they had access to the resources and services they needed.
In response to Hurricane Beryl, we provided immediate relief to 199 households and 719 individuals, demonstrating the strength and resilience of our community during a time of crisis.
Our Thanksgiving Mobile Distribution brought warmth and hope to 350 households and 1,356 individuals, ensuring they could enjoy a thanksgiving meal with their loved ones.
We provided school supplies and hygiene packs to 1,159 DISD students, equipping them with the essentials they needed for a successful school year.
None of these accomplishments would have been possible without the incredible dedication of our volunteers, who contributed an astounding 9,599 hours of service this year. From distributing food to supporting events and outreach efforts, our volunteers embody the true spirit of compassion.
This year, we also prioritized raising awareness about the services we provide. By attending 93 outreach events, we strengthened connections with our community and shared knowledge about the vital resources available to those in need.
As we reflect on 2024, I am reminded of the power of community and the profound difference we can make when we come together. Your support has allowed us to provide hope, restore dignity, and uplift lives and for that, I am deeply grateful.
As we look ahead to 2025, I invite you to continue this journey with us. Together, we can build on these successes and create an even brighter future for the communities we serve.
Thank you for believing in our mission and for standing alongside us every step of the way. Your generosity and kindness inspire us to keep going, even in the face of challenges.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Angelica Hanley
