DIAMOND H
The Hatton family have been passionately breeding Santa Gertrudis for over 45 years. The Diamond H Stud was established in 1993 with Yarrawonga Waco bloodlines.
The Hatton family run a significant and successful pure-bred stud and commercial operation covering over 200,000 acres on properties in the Auburn River (north Chinchilla), Wandoan, Aramac and Blackall districts. Cattle country consists of a mix of brigalow, ironbark, sandalwood, vine scrub, and downs grassed with buffel, mitchell and flinders grasses and some lighter forest areas.
The Diamond H stud herd consists of approximately 700 breeders. To date 600 stud breeders have been genotyped. The large stud breeder base allows for good quality home bred sires to be utilised in the Hatton family commercial and stud herds, while
still able to produce high quality sires for Santa Central and other clients.
The Hatton family continually promote the Santa Gertrudis breed. Commercial success includes Champion Pen of Santa Gertrudis Steers and Heifers at the 2024 Annual Eidsvold Show Santa/ Santa Infused Sale.
Stud rewards include Reserve Junior Champion Heifer - Diamond H Astrid (P) at BEEF 2024. EKKA 2023 – Grand Champion Santa Gertrudis Female – Diamond H Xyla (P), top 3 female in the 2023 Interbreed Competition.
Diamond H continued to exhibit at the 2025 Royal Queensland Show with great success. Diamond H Bailey (P) was awarded Junior Champion Heifer. Diamond H Battler (P) received 1st place in the 16-18 months and Diamond H Bentley (P) received 2nd place in the 18-20 months Junior Bull classes.
GLENN OAKS
Glenn Oaks was started with females from Kabunga West and Bilukura Santa Studs. The late Bruce Perrett was very generous and looked after me well at the Big S sales.
Glenn Oaks females have always been run in conjunction with the Glenview Stud and early sires were from King Ranch and Yarrawonga-Waco.
We have consistently had success at Royal and Feature shows winning many broad ribbons. We have been fortunate to breed and sell bulls successfully that have gone onto breed for their purchasers including names like Braveheart, Banker, Cooper, Drayton, Farmhand, Fleetwood, Hastings, Jabba, Jacabite, Jack Hammer, Jetlag, Jibba, Jumbo Bwana, Jay Walk, Kilimanjaro, King Pin, Kingsburg, Lambert, Lionheart, Magnate, Nakuru, Nashville, Z77, Palo, Penfold, Pioneer, Ransom, Remington, Picardo, Rubbel, Piano Man and Q144 that have all sold for consistent prices into studs.
It is particularly pleasing to see Glenn Oaks bloodlines appear in pedigrees of sale and show for studs such as Bullamakinka, Dangarfield, Dunlop, Glenalbyn, Goolagong, Jamar, Munnabah, Santahat, Waco, Wave Hill, Welbatch, Yarrabee and Yugilbar to name a few.
Early sires from Yarrawonga, Waco, Diamond H and Dunlop have bred consistently for us. Not forgetting Yarrawonga Oberg daughters have been the most consistent breeders we have ever had. Recent sires that have been purchased include Diamond H R47 and Munnabah Ironman (with Warenda) and Goolagong Leopard.
2016 saw the purchase of Diamond H Red Foo (with Warenda and Wave Hill) who unfortunately died prematurely. We were enormously happy with his athletism and constitution.
2017 we purchased (in partnership with Warenda) Waco Murdoch and Waco L596.
In 2018, Yarrabee Gunyah 1377 (P) was purchased in partnership with the Diamond H stud for $54,000.
2019 sire purchases include Yarrawonga P590 (PS), Forest Park 1073 and Glenalbyn Noble.
2020 saw Glenn Oaks Palo P1211 (ET)(AI)(PS) break the Australian breed record selling for $126,000 to the Munnabah and Glenalbyn studs. 2020 also saw Glenn Oaks Penfold P1261 (ET)(AI)(PS) sell for $95,000 to the Warenda stud. Both out of Glenn Oaks Harmony who was the dam of 7 Glenn Oaks bulls in 2020’s sale. These 7 bulls combined to gross $279,000 and average $39,857. With much

sadness Harmony passed away suddenly in late 2020.
In 2021, 22 Glenn Oaks bulls averaged $29,159 with sales including Rubbel ($120,000) to Scott and Rebecca Dunlop, Remington ($100,000) to the Hatton Family of Diamond H, Q144 ($110,000) to the Kilcock stud and R38 ($90,000) to the Watson family of Watasanta. Glenn Oaks and Wave Hill purchased new sires including Yarrawonga Katmandu for $150,000 (New Australian Breed Record), Munnabah Oban (P) for $26,000, Diamond H Xav (P) for $90,000 and Annabranch Rambo (P) for $23,000 (top price at Wandoan 2021).
In 2022 at the Santa Central Sale 14 bulls from Glenn Oaks and Wave Hill sold to the successful and respected studs including Stirling ($175,000 a then Australian Record) to the Watson Family of the Watasanta stud in partnership with Luke and Carly Baker of the Annabranch stud. Somersby ($90,000) sold to the Annabranch stud, we admired Somersby for his natural thickness, hindquarter structure, breed character and over all power. As announced during the sale we were interested in investing in Somersby so were delighted to purchase a half share back from the Annabranch stud. Wave Hill Sawtell ($30,000) selling to the Prentice Family’s Jamar stud, Rumpus ($30,000) to the Santahat stud and Revolution ($26,000) to the Glen Vista stud. Glenn Oaks and Wave Hill during 2022 purchased Yulgibar Rayban R026 (P) from the Myer Family and Yarrawonga S1088 (P) privately from Yarrawonga Cattle Co.
2023 saw the purchase of Kilcock Samburu (P), Dunlop T228 (P) and Yarrawonga S1634 (P). Glenn Oaks Tattersall was kept and a ½ share ½ possession was sold to the Annabranch Stud. At the 2023 Santa Central Sale 13 head were sold into studs including Glenn Oaks Timberland who sold for $62,500 to Tom and Anna Dunlop of the Munnabah Stud. Glenn Oaks Solsbury sold to the Diamond H Stud, Tribunal to the Watasanta Stud, Thunderbird to the Warenda Stud, Tabloid for $35,000 to the Yarrabee Stud, Trailblazer to the Santahat Stud, Templeman and Salvadore to the Kilcock Stud, Truman to the Yarrajay Stud, Silverado to the Normanby Stud, and Sombrero to the Yarrawonga Stud.
2024 included sale of T90 to the Yarrabee Stud, Tango to the Brookeside Stud, and Tiberius to the Moongana Stud. Ukulele to Kilcock, Unique to the Ayredale Stud, Utah to the Yarrawonga Stud and Uppington to the Munnabah and Glenalbyn Studs.

KILCOCK
This year has had its ups and downs, from the floods in 2021, to now upgraded fences and brandnew yards. The Kilcock stud is getting back on track, preparing to welcome this year’s progeny from newly purchased sires. Q144’s first round of sires will become available, and they certainly are a sight for sore eyes. The purchases of Diamond H Y29, Glenn Oaks S130 Scallywag, Wave Hill Templeman, and Wave Hill Salvadore. All of which have been introduced into our herd. From mature dams, to weaners, this season is shaping up to look like one of our best yet! Keep your eyes peeled to see what is on offer from Kilcock Santas, you will not be disappointed.
WARENDA
The Warenda Stud was registered in 1984 and the passion for Santa Gertrudis cattle continues to this day. The long history of breeding Santa began in1965 with my late father purchasing a Santa Gertrudis bull to be used over a Poll Hereford commercial herd. The benefits of the Santas were soon noticeable with heifers retained and a commercial herd established. Warenda Stud is situated on ‘Spring Vale’ at Narrabri in NSW, which is a grazing property with cows are run on grass country year round.
Over the years a strong emphasis has been placed on the cow herd, which we believe is the backbone of a successful breeding program. ‘Cows first and foremost’. Influential sires have been purchased over the last 40 years, some home bred sires retained and AI programs conducted, to try and achieve this goal.
The Warenda stud showed cattle continuously from 1990 through to 2022. Success was achieved with broad ribbons won with both bulls and females at Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne Royal shows, plus breed feature shows.
Warenda also conducted a successful on-property sale for 12 years. Sales achieved a good clearance and had a high percentage of repeat buyers. WAVE HILL
In the mid 1950’s the Kirkby Family first imported Santa Gertrudis cattle from America. These cattle were the foundation of the Wave Hill Stud. Wave Hill has always concentrated on breeding cattle that are fertile and efficient. It has been important that the cowherd is low maintenance with cows expected to calve unassisted. Neat teats and good shaped udders are highly desirable and very hereditary. Doing ability is also strongly emphasized, along with trim sheaths and excellent scrotal measurements.
Wave Hill has had major achievements at auction sales. Bulls have consistently sold for excellent averages for many years in both QLD and NSW. At the 2015 Santa Central sale Wave Hill achieved equal top prices of $67,500 for two bulls Wave Hill Jager (P) and Wave Hill Jackal (P).
Wave Hill has been showing cattle for many years with success. Winning broad ribbons at both Sydney and Brisbane Royal Shows. Achievements have been Grand Champion Bull at Brisbane RNA in 1994 and again in 2015.
2017 saw the Wave Hill stud purchased in its entirety by Scott and Wendy Ferguson.
