Work ntation Represe
Generating an understanding of manual and digital representation techniques.
ARC 107 Exercise #01
Animate the Inanimate
Experimented with different views and hatches. Product was animated using different line weights to show translation.
Exercises 3A-C
Proto Architectures
A series of exercises familiarizing myself with digital representational techniques through a range of lenses: structure, surface, and section.
Compiled representation techniques in an imagined cityscape full of a variety of building typologies. Hypothesized about how different spaces would be inhabited through addition of entourage.
ualization Concept Spatial
Exercises understanding different spatial logics and contingencies. Creating my own logics and investigating other architects’.
The Cube
Begins to conceptualize solid and void in architecture. “Unfolded” cubes allowed for deeper understanding of scale in 3D space. Familiarized self with a rule-based iterative process of creating.
Precedent Analysis
Analyzed Alvar Aalto’s “Baker House” dorm building through lenses of material, program, circulation, and surrounding context.
Applying Spatial Logic
Moving from basic exercises conceptualizing space to integrating contingencies like site, program, and structural grid into designs.
Fit/Function
Gain understanding of spatial envelope of a human figure, and designed a piece of furniture for the space it implies.
Final Project Youth Hostel
Designed a youth hostel in downtown Syracuse. Understanding site context by using the neighboring river walk to inform the building’s form.
