COP is trying something new in an effort to assist in getting out community emergency information and more. Many people do not get “Call Fire”, some don’t get emails from the office on planned outages, and some aren’t on Facebook, or signed up for the Bugle. All of these things are great communication tools, but if you aren’t getting them, it doesn’t work.

So as an enhanced service we will attempt to ‘TEXT’ you the information that COP is made aware of from many sources, the information as we know it. If you have a phone that receives TEXT Message, I-Phone or Android, and you want to participate, please send me your name, address and phone number, and you will be added to the list. You will receive a message like the sample here. No names, no addresses, just numbers of people like yourself receiving a TEXT message.

If you are interested TEXT me at 909-915-7907, the service is currently in effect and was used last month. It will appear as COP DPCC COMMUNITY EMERGENCY TEXT, with exact location of emergency when possible. Bill Kelly Citizens On Patrol President

June 13th

It is my pleasure to share a little more about myself. My name is Maria Hernandez, and I’ve been with Equity Lifestyle Properties for nearly 13 years, come this September. I began my journey as an Assistant Manager at a senior community in the Northern California region (Modesto) back in 2013. At the time, I was attending Modesto Junior College, pursuing my business degree, working toward my mobile home sales license, and earning my medical billing and coding certificate. During that time, I had the privilege of working closely with residents and team members to foster a supportive and welcoming environment.

A year later, I was promoted to Community Manager at the same property where I began my career with ELS. I continued upgrading the community while also assisting nearby sister properties with their operational needs.

I fell in love with the challenge of revitalizing communities and partnering with residents to enhance their homesites. After bringing my community up to standard, I took the initiative to expand my knowledge by learning and training within other divisions of ELS. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to wear many hats across our Manufactured Home Communities, RV/TT Resorts, and even our Marinas division. These experiences have sharpened my skills and deepened my passion for transforming properties that need a little extra care. I also take great pride in mentoring new property managers and supporting their development as they grow within the company.

I was raised by loving parents who taught me to lead with kindness, respect, and humility values I carry with me in all that I do. I’m the youngest of three, and I’ve always been inspired by my older sister and brother to lead with heart and integrity. My leadership style is rooted in open communication, teamwork, and thoughtful decision-making. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors. Whether it’s hiking, running, or taking a peaceful walk, being in nature is an important part of my life. I find joy in the little things those special, meaningful moments that money can’t buy. I’m happily married, and my husband and I love to travel and embrace new adventures together.

I truly look forward to getting to know each of you and working together to make Date Palm Country Club the very best it can be for our residents, our team, and our entire community.

Thank You Maria for joining our beautiful community and welcome! Bill Kelly Courier Editor

4/29 Received call from the office for check the welfare, due to flies and smells from home. COP checked all is good with resident.

5/5 I received reports of people taking fruit from trees without permission, on Calle Madrigal. Unable to locate. Please be respectful of others properties. Chasing lost golf balls in yards too.

5/6 Young male with backpack on Don Benito. Searched for the individual, unable to locate.

5/7 An after hours person on the golf course hole #17 drinking and allowing his dog to run free on the course. Couldn’t locate, please remember the course is not used for pets, even after hours.

5/8 Resident called about an apparent CVWD vehicle trying to enter the back gate. They were advised to go to the front gate. GM was called, they had no knowledge why the Water District would be on the property.

5/10 Received call from resident about coyote on the golf course with an apparent broken leg. Dis-

patched COP to the location but could not locate. Advised Mgr to advise Pro Shop for golfers and also to fix the two holes in the fence that was found.

5/10 I received a call from residents at the main clubhouse pool that the bathrooms were closed. I called GM and she dispatched Maintenance Supervisor. Apparently Pro Shop personnel lock doors when they leave at 2pm. They were advised to please not do so, and leave for Security at 10pm.

5/10 I received call from residents leaving the front gate, stating that the entrance gate is wide open and nobody in the guard shack. As described before, when our gate personnel take breaks they leave it open, we don’t have back up personnel. In this case a young male with backpack was observed entering. COP could not locate this person.

5/11 The same dog that gets away in the back nine was returned to 488 again.

5/13 Resident called about speeders on Paseo Laredo So, and poor worthless speed humps, they need improving. I agreed and we are working on improving humps. PLEASE SLOW DOWN AND RESPECT STOP SIGNS, EVEN IN GOLF CARTS.

QUOTES

Less ego, more wealth. Saving money is the gap between your ego and your income, and wealth is what you don't see. So wealth is created by suppressing what you could buy today in order to have more stuff or more options in the future.

Morgan Housel

More people can be greater leaders than they think they can, but they need a purpose greater than themselves.

William J. Clinton, 42nd president of the United States.

Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by those who hustle.

Frequently attributed to Abraham Lincoln, 16th president of the United State

Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan, "Press on," has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.

Calvin Coolidge, 30th president of the United States, from a sign on his desk.

Any man worth his salt will stick up for what he believes right, but it takes a slightly better man to acknowledge instantly and without reservation that he is in error.

Andrew Jackson, 7th president of the United States

The Lighter Side

Rice Preference

The young woman really thought she'd been very patient through a protracted period of dating with no talk of marriage.

One night her steady boyfriend took her to a Chinese restaurant. As he perused the menu, he casually asked her, "So . . . how do you like your rice? Boiled? Steamed? Or fried?"

Without missing a beat, she looked over her menu at him and replied clearly, "Thrown."

Talking Clock

While proudly showing off his new apartment to friends late one night, one wag led the way to his bedroom where there was a big brass gong.

"What's that big brass gong for?" one of the guests asked.

"Why, that's the talking clock," the man replied. "Watch", the man said, giving the gong an ear-shattering pound with a hammer.

Suddenly, someone on the other side of the wall screamed, "F'gosh sakes, you idiot, it's 2 a.m. in the morning!"

Apples

The children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic elementary school for lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples. The nun made a note, and posted on the apple tray:

"Take only ONE. God is watching."

Moving further along the lunch line, at the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies.

A child had written a note, "Take all you want. God is watching the apples."
