June

Manager’s Corner 2025

June means: Happy Father’s Day! And the start of long summer days.

Let’s stay cool this summer and remember to change your AC unit filters. If your Central Air is not working and you are interested in buying a Mini Split Air Conditioner, remember to first contact the Housing Community Development to provide you with a permit. Once the permit process has been completed then provide the office with a copy of the permit followed by filling out a lot and home modification requests. Keep in mind No window air conditioner may be installed in the front windows. The pool is another way to keep the kids busy and cool this summer.

We ask everyone, as a community to help keep the outsiders out of the pool and Spa this summer. Usually, outsiders will try to ask someone else to open the door for them or they will try to reach over to open the gate door. When you are enjoying the pool with your family, DO NOT open the door for others. Every resident and their guest should have a key.

The capacity for the pool is 25 and 8 for the SPA. This is why we have limited 2 guest per household. See the following page under Additional Friendly Reminders to learn more about our pool rules.

We Wish everyone a Safe and fun Summer from the Highlands, Liz, Lupe, Juana, Mac, Earl.

• All animals except for guide animals for the handicapped are prohibited from entering the pool area.

QUOTES

Less ego, more wealth. Saving money is the gap between your ego and your income, and wealth is what you don't see. So wealth is created by suppressing what you could buy today in order to have more stuff or more options in the future.

Morgan Housel

More people can be greater leaders than they think they can, but they need a purpose greater than themselves.

William J. Clinton, 42nd president of the United States.

Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by those who hustle.

Frequently attributed to Abraham Lincoln, 16th president of the United State

Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan, "Press on," has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.

Calvin Coolidge, 30th president of the United States, from a sign on his desk.

Any man worth his salt will stick up for what he believes right, but it takes a slightly better man to acknowledge instantly and without reservation that he is in error.

Andrew Jackson, 7th president of the United States

Live without pretending, Love without depending, Listen without defending, Speak without offending.

Aubrey Drake Graham (Drake), Recording artist, songwriter

If Trivial Pursuit had been designed by economists, it would have had 100 questions and 3,000 answers.

The Lighter Side

Rice Preference

The young woman really thought she'd been very patient through a protracted period of dating with no talk of marriage.

One night her steady boyfriend took her to a Chinese restaurant. As he perused the menu, he casually asked her, "So . . . how do you like your rice? Boiled? Steamed? Or fried?"

Without missing a beat, she looked over her menu at him and replied clearly, "Thrown."

Talking Clock

While proudly showing off his new apartment to friends late one night, one wag led the way to his bedroom where there was a big brass gong.

"What's that big brass gong for?" one of the guests asked.

"Why, that's the talking clock," the man replied. "Watch", the man said, giving the gong an ear-shattering pound with a hammer.

Suddenly, someone on the other side of the wall screamed, "F'gosh sakes, you idiot, it's 2 a.m. in the morning!"

Apples

The children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic elementary school for lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples. The nun made a note, and posted on the apple tray:

"Take only ONE. God is watching."

Moving further along the lunch line, at the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies.

A child had written a note, "Take all you want. God is watching the apples."

Reader Response

From time to time we like to reach out to readers to gather feedback. This time we are looking to learn more about what advertisers or services you would like to see in your magazine.

You could let us know any of the following: A specific business (we would need their name and contact info), a type of business that you would like or a company you have used.

We do all of this to make sure we are providing you with access to companies that can help you in any number of ways. This is critical to the success of the magazine for both readers and advertisers. That is the partnership that has worked for over 40 years and still works today.

We would like to offer an incentive to any new advertiser you help us to get to advertise. For any new advertiser who wants to come on board we can offer a 10% discount on all 6 and 12 month ad contracts. The only condition is that they have never advertised before. We want new companies who can learn the benefits of advertising in your magazines.

We can be reached by email at readerresponse@mobilehomeparkmagazines.com or via phone (800)-828-8242 x3107.
