Commercial facilities will be positioned on the ground floor for easy accessibility. Some floors are composed of terraces which are dedicated for social interactions while facilitating in cross ventilation.

The building will have a main foyer which will act as a distribution area to the two wings of the building, Meeting rooms will be positioned on the ground floor for easy accessibility.

The building is composed of a core which will act as distribution area to the two wings of the building which will constitute of for elavators and two fire escapes for vertical circulation, The basements constitutes of one entrance and axit in the parking area.

PROPOSED KARONGI TENTED LODGE

Inspiration, form and structure.

The site has panoramic views to lake Kivu and it was major factor that had to be considered when designing The aim was to allow the space of this logde to have view. To achieve this, the site was stepped and tiers were made. Sustainable Design(PassiveDesign) consists use of Sun shading strategy is very critical issue in Rwanda.Openings of the building are designed to minimize the impact of the sun radiations.

Natural ventilation, also called passive ventilation, uses natural outside air movement and pressure differences to both passively cool and ventilate a building. Natural ventilation is important because it can provide and move fresh air without fans. For warm and hot climates, it can help meet a building’s cooling loads without using mechanical air conditioning systems. This can be a large fraction of a building’s total energy use. Therefore, two a wning windows are installed at the top and bottom of each curtain wall unit for ventilation.

PROPOSED GASANZE KINDERGARTEN

The design is developed to maintain adequate space outside each side of the classroom wing as well as outdoor space for the nursery and reception years. The new school will be surrounded by landscaping providing excellent outdoor spaces for the school.

The school is designed to provide a minimal carbon footprint in operation, combining passive measures such as insulation, north lights and positioning to maximise natural daylight with technological solutions such as biomass, solar thermal, Earth Tubes and Solar PV to minimise consumption. Education of staff and pupils also plays a role and displays show energy performance and aspects of the Building Management System are available for teachers to use as a teaching aid.

PROPOSED WEDDING GARDENS

The features and programms entailed in this project include the following: gathering space for wedding ceremony which will be covered by big tents, changing room, kitchen, and place of buffet.

All these are in line with wedding goals. Locally sourced materials which include bamboo, roof grass, timber were proposed and some traditional decolation which can reflect rwandan culture will be used for this project.
