IN METRO SOUTH

Welcome to the Metro South Region - Where Better Begins!

As President & CEO of the Metro South Chamber of Commerce, I am delighted to share with you the exciting momentum building across our communities. From new businesses and expanded transit access to a flourishing cultural scene, the Metro South region is growing, evolving, and welcoming opportunity like never before.

Based in Brockton and serving members throughout the South Shore, the Chamber is proud to champion Consultation, Advocacy, Research, and Education — C.A.R.E. — on behalf of thousands of business and community leaders. Together, we’re building a stronger regional economy along the Route 24 corridor — a place where bold ideas take root, businesses thrive, and people flourish.

There’s a renewed energy in the air! The Brockton Rox professional baseball team has returned to Campanelli Stadium, bringing family fun and summertime excitement back to the city. Urban Air, a brand-new indoor adventure park, has opened its doors adding another destination for year-round entertainment. And with the expanded MBTA Commuter Rail service, residents and visitors can now travel with increased frequency from Brockton to Boston and (for the first time) south to Taunton, Fall River, and New Bedford; connecting even more of the South Coast to the heart of the region.

Our cities and towns are also welcoming thousands of new housing units, making it easier than ever for people to call Metro South home. Whether you’re seeking a vibrant downtown apartment, a quiet suburban neighborhood, or a woodsy retreat, the options are growing.

Alongside this development comes a wave of new eateries and cafés, from global cuisine to locally sourced favorites, energizing the food scene in Brockton and beyond.

Inside this guide, you’ll find member businesses that represent the very best in their fields — enterprises that not only deliver quality products and services, but also form the backbone of our economy and way of life. They are neighbors, employers, and innovators, and they draw our recognition and support, always.

During your time in the region, explore the awardwinning Fuller Craft Museum, enjoy the timeless talent of the Brockton Symphony Orchestra, cheer on the resilient Rox, and wander scenic trails cared for by The Trustees, Mass Audubon, and countless conservation groups. With ample hotel accommodations and easy access to Boston, Providence, Plymouth, and Cape Cod, you’re perfectly positioned to experience all the richness Metro South has to offer.

Whether you’re discovering this region for the first time, choosing to live and raise a family here, or investing in a new business venture — we’re thrilled to welcome you.

Let us show you around — Where Better Begins.

Warm & Welcoming Regards,

Metro South Chamber of Commerce

DID YOU KNOW?

New England is the home to America’s Industrial Revolution. Although it is rarely acknowledged, one of the most significant events in technological history took place in 1883 when Thomas Edison electrified central Brockton. Edison chose Brockton because it featured a classic New England village center, was near Boston, and was one of the most progressive small cities in the nation. Edison’s central system in Brockton was the first to employ all of Edison’s generator wiring, conductors, feeder lines, and meters.

The highly efficient power station was the first plant on earth to cross the boundaries of illumination and introduce completely safe commercial electric motors, electric appliances, and electric street-car (trolley) traction. It also allowed for aesthetically pleasing underground wiring. For more information, please visit brocktonhistoricalsociety.org

CULTURE & LEISURE

In Metro South, culture and community go hand in hand. The region is home to vibrant arts, diverse attractions, and year-round activities that enrich daily life and invite exploration.

SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE

From symphony performances and craft exhibits to baseball games and scenic trails, Metro South offers a rich mix of arts, entertainment, and outdoor recreation. Discover local treasures like the Brockton Symphony Orchestra, Fuller Craft Museum, Brockton Rox, Children’s Museum in Easton, and South Shore Natural Science Center. Whether you’re exploring galleries, teeing off at a local golf course, or enjoying our vibrant parks, there’s something for everyone in the region.

MUSEUMS & CULTURAL ATTRACTIONS

There’s so much to enjoy right here in the Metro South. Beyond the wide array of shopping and dining, we’ve made art and culture an integral part of our community, evident at the one-of-a-kind Fuller Craft Museum, the acclaimed Brockton Symphony and the inspiring Indaba Theatre of New England. We also love working up a sweat in the great outdoors, as both athletes and fans. We’re lucky enough to be able to ski at our very own Blue Hills, play a round at D.W. Field Golf Course, cheer on the Brockton Rox, kayak down a scenic river and even try our hand at Formula 1 racing, all for much less than one would pay in the city. With a thousand things to see and do, right in our backyard, it’s clear why so many of us are happy to call Metro South home.
