Heart Ball 2015: The 2015 Heart Ball chairs, Bob and Lorraine Dutkowsky celebrated at the annual black tie gala, raising more than $1 million dollars to help fight heart disease and stroke. During dinner, speed artist, Tim Decker painted three portraits of Ray Charles, Albert Einstein and USF’s mascot – Rocky the Bull. Each painting sold for over $4,000. HSN’s Mindy Grossman commissioned her own speed painting for $9,000. The 2016 Heart Ball chairs will be Nina and Trey Traviesa. | Tampa General Hospital Foundation's 18th Annual Gala: Over 600 people experienced Industrial Elegance at the Tampa General Hospital Foundation’s 18th Annual Gala, chaired this year by Heidrun Divers, Gretchen Dominguez, and Catherine Christie-Zanghi. A cruise terminal was the waterfront setting where guests celebrated Channelside nightlife with farm-to-table cuisine, a silent Art Auction, a casino, dancing to music by Breezin’ Mixology and a $10,000 chance drawing contest. The event netted over $325,000 for the Foundation’s Fund for the Future. | Mayoral Inaugural Ball 2015: The Economic Club of Tampa hosted the first-ever, sold-out Mayoral Ball celebrating Mayor Bob Buckhorn’s inauguration, and all good things about Tampa at the Straz Center. The Economic Club of Tampa also honored former Mayors Dick Greco (1967-1974 and 1995-2003); Bob Martinez (1979-1986); Sandra Freedman (1986-1995); and Pam Iorio (20032011), for their leadership and vision. Bob Miles and Dr. Sebastian “Buster” Castellano, co-chairs of the event, presented a check for $50,000 to Phillip Jones, President and Duane Johnson, Board Chair of The Hillsborough Education Foundation, in support of the Take Stock in Children Scholarship Program.| JLT Annual Dinner: The Junior League of Tampa hosted their Annual Dinner to recognize its members and present awards including, Active of the Year and Committee of the Year. JTL President, Lynette Russell passed the gavel to incoming President Stacy Carlson.
