What is a Chief Technology Officer(CTO)? Roles and Responsibilities of CTO. The executive in charge of an organization's technological demands as well as research and development is known as the chief technology officer (CTO) (R&D). This person, often known as a chief technical officer, assesses a company's short- and long-term needs and uses cash to make investments that will assist the organisation achieve its goals. The chief technology officer (CTO) normally reports directly to the company's chief information officer (CIO), although the CTO may also answer to the company's chief executive officer (CEO).

What does CTO do? ● The CTO's tasks are dependent on a variety of elements, including the starting location, business processing style, the amount of in-house and outsourced staff, and many more. ● They can be employed for one of two reasons: to manage internal corporate procedures or to create creative goods. ● The CTO is in charge of bringing a concept to life and preserving the project's strategic focus. ● The Founder of a small business performs the role of CTO, while the CTO of a large corporation oversees numerous development teams, including those addressing corporate technology needs. ● The CTO may be referred to as a product manager, having the primary responsibility for leading a tech team and making business-critical tech decisions such as product architectural layout and development platform selection. ● Another strategy that is gaining traction in 2020 is CTO as a service. To save money on project budgets, engineering task execution, tech supervision, and management have all been outsourced.
