Two Examination Information May 2025
Information for Pupils and Parents/Guardians
Examination Dates: Monday 19th– Thursday 29th May 2025
Pupils are required to attend all examinations in their subjects and any special sessions arranged by the Head of Form. If a pupil is unable to attend school for an examination, parents/guardians are asked to contact the school in the usual manner (use the School Gateway app. or text using the Schoolcomms system: 01287244005).
There are two examination sessions each day as indicated below.
Session 1
Break
9.10-12.00 noon
10.50-11.10am
Lunch 12.00 noon-12.40pm
Session 2
12.45-3.15pm (at the latest)
There will be no tutor groups from Monday 19th May to Thursday 29th May 2025 inclusive. Tutor groups on Friday 30th May will run from 8.45am to 8.55am and Period 1 will start at 9.00am.
Pupils must be at the examination room early enough to be seated by 9.05am for Session 1 and by 12.40pm for Session 2
As a period of revision will be held at the start of a session when an examination does not occupy the full time, pupils should bring appropriate revision materials. Pupils are only permitted to leave the examination room when absolutely necessary. When pupils leave, they should go quickly and quietly as others will be working. Mobile phones and smart watches must be turned off at all times in the examination room and a black non-erasable pen should be used to answer examination questions.
During Session 2, pupils will be released from the examination venue at the end of an examination paper if this is at an earlier time than the end of the session.
During a non-examination day or a non-examination Session 2, pupils are expected to be studying at home. However, for those pupils who have difficulties with transportation to and from school, there will be a limited amount of space available for study in the Heritage Centre. Pupils who have missed any examinations will be required to do them in the Whitla Hall on Friday 30th May 2025. This will be arranged by their Head of Form.
There will be no Main or Form assemblies from Monday 19th to Friday 30th May 2025 inclusive.
There will be no Games during the examination period.
Normal classes will resume on Friday 30th May 2025 (Week B).
Monday 26th May 2025 is a Staff Development Day.
