Silvia Beck, Principal, Berlin
Lisa gained an MA in Producing from UCLA’s prestigious School of Theatre, Film and Television, and has worked in development and production at Warner Bros and HBO Films. Her credits include Peabody-winning Shot Through the Heart and Emmynominated RKO281 produced by Ridley and Tony Scott. She has been involved with screen development, production and teaching for over 15 years.
Silvia Beck is a respected director, editor and cinematographer who studied cinematography at the National Film and Television School in London. She has headed up MetFilm School Berlin since its inception in 2012.

Rachel Wood, Head of Teaching and Learning
Steve is a former Arts Centre director, director and programmer of three regional cinemas and art galleries, Director of the Association of Independent Producers and the founder of Britain’s first Media Centre, where he won the BFI Independent Spirit Award. He has 25 years’ experience of television producing in the UK and across the world, working for companies such as the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Discovery, Sky and Disney. His portfolio includes award-winning shows like SM:TV Live, CD:UK and Comic Relief Does Fame Academy.
Rachel is a screen professional with many years of experience in the film industry. She was Head of Production in London for LA based Catch23; Head of Development for esteemed UK producers Stephen Woolley and Nik Powell; and has worked with many writers and directors including Robert Wade and Neal Purvis (Skyfall, Stoned), Catherine Johnson (Mamma Mia), Lee Hall (Billy Elliott) and Stephen Frears. She has also served on the BAFTA jury and NFTS Script Advisory Board.

MA Directing Leader at MetFilm School Berlin. His film Sto spiti won the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury at the Berlinale in 2014 and his feature Echolot premiered at the Berlinale 2013. In 2016 he was a guest juror at the Oberhausen Film Festival.
Award-winning French filmmaker based in Berlin with Master’s degrees from UCLA and the Institute of Political Sciences in Paris. Films and new media projects have been screened at film festivals worldwide, including the Berlinale, Hot Docs, and Sheffield Doc/Fest.

Composer for film and television from the UK. Won the VW Score Prize at the Berlin Film Festival 2006. Credits include the BAFTA-winning documentary Mummifying Alan and the major BBC Television series WW2 – Behind Closed Doors.
A Ph.D. in Film and Visual Studies from Harvard University. Her feature film Rosehill has been shown at various US film festivals. She has taught Film at Harvard University, New York University Berlin, Indiana University and other institutions.

Facilities – London Our London campus is based within the famous Ealing Studios complex, home of renowned Ealing Comedies including The Ladykillers and Passport to Pimlico, and recent productions such as The Theory of Everything, The Imitation Game and hit ITV series Downton Abbey. Our facilities include a variety of shooting spaces, classrooms and studios. Depending on the course, students might also have access to our sound stage, screening rooms and state-of-the-art post production theatres. Our Production Facilities Team offers a range of camera, lighting and sound equipment to support student projects. Facilities – Berlin MetFilm School Berlin is based at BUFA-Studios, one of the oldest film studios in Europe, located in the Tempelhof/NeukÜlln district of Berlin. In 2015 MetFilm School Berlin successfully launched a partnership with YouTube Spaces and greatly expanded its facilities. Students benefit from state-of-the-art training spaces, including a fully equipped 1,500 sq ft studio, two standing sets, a 5.1 surround sound screening room and post production suites.
