Welcome to this first edition of Metal for your Veins. This fanzine goes out for the first time with the objective of giving to know more envelopes a little the scene of the Cuban and international metal. And also to surrender tribute to all the Cuban magazines of rock that arose previously and that for a reason or another stopped to leave. I hope they like this edition, the first one of many others that will come.

The Dead Daisies in Cuba In spite of several months to have happened that this super rock group played in Cuba, they are many those that not yet forget this incredible experience.

Nobody could believe it; The Dead Daisies came to play Cuba. At once everybody reminded the epic concert behind offered 10 years, for the super band Audioslave. The Dead Daisies became this way the second group of American rock that came to play Cuba.

But big was the surprise from all when discovering who were super the members of this band: Bernard Fowler (Rolling Stones), Jon Stevens (INXS), Richard Fortus (Guns N' Roses, Thin Lizzy), Dizzy Reed (Guns N' Roses), Marco Mendoza (Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake) Brian Tich (Whitesnake, Ozzy Osbourne), John Corabi (Motley Crue) and David Lowy (Net Phoenix and The Angel).

The band had planned to offer two concerts in Havana, the first one on Wednesday February 25 in the palace of the Cuban rock: the Maxim Rock and the second concert would be on Saturday 28 in the Salon Rosado de La Tropical.

To the rhythm of topics as: Yesterday" “Washington” Lock ' n' Lauds", It's gonna take Time", Face I love", Your Karma and Angel in your Eyes and the memorable Gimme Shelter", among many other, all those that we were present singing the topics interpreted in both concerts.

But I don't count them more; here I leave them several pictures like memory of those unforgettable moments.

Brutal Summer Fest 2015 By: Alejandro Pérez.

Last month in August it was carried out the 10th edition of the Brutal Fest, this time it corresponded to the summer edition, the Brutal Summer Fest.

The present edition was developed from the 14 to August 23. The participant bands were; Get the Shot (Canada), Vale Tudo (Switzerland), Uberyou (Switzerland), The Strapones (Switzerland) and Ratbomb (France), this last band couldn´t came due to problems that they presented and in its place came the Mexicans of Joliette. And for the Cuban part, the bands were: Arrabio, Switch, Adictox, and Tendencia.

Dates of the tour: August 2015 . Holguín August 14 . Bayamo August 15 . Santiago August 16 . Camagüey August 18 . Sacred Clara August 20 . Havana August 21 and 22 . Pinar del Rio August 23 The presentations here in Havana they took place in the Maxim Rock during two followed days, enough time so that the bands demonstrated all their talent and energy in front of a public that waited anxious to that the event began.

Each band gave the best in its music, talent and energy; beginning with the Swishes Vale Tudo who finished singing “Refuse-Resist”, cover of the super band Brazilian Sepultura. Then played the Swiss Uberyou who made pass pleasant a while to the spectators with their songs.

Without place to doubts one of the best bands was the Canadian Get the Shot who put to jump until the fatigue to the whole Maxim with their incredible talent, followed by the Mexican Joliette; those which with their incredible one bear they also made vibrate the whole scenario. Then The Strapones of Switzerland; who also demonstrated their great talent. And we cannot stop to mention the Cubans of Adictox being presented for the first time here in Havana. Without place to doubt were two days of intense adrenaline.

Brutal Summer Fest 2015

By Yusniel Valdés Puig It is the tenth edition of the international event of the Brutal Summer Fest organized by the record Brutal Beatdown Record by the organizing David Chapet.

An event in that which is part of the organization of the Cuban Agency of Rock (ACR) and the Cuban Institute of the Music, an event waited by people's of the whole country thousands.

The prospective tour of the Brutal Summer Fest 2015 began August 14 for the oriental county of Cuba Holguín; with the bands Get The Shot (Canada), Tudo is Worth (Switzerland), Uberyou (Switzerland), The Strapones (Switzerland) and Joliette (Mexico).

August 15 their second presentation in the Island in what would be in the city of Bayamo, county of Granma, in the Square of Party was not carried out the concerts for problems that later on will be able to read, the first time that the concerts were canceled was in the 2012 for problems of the time with a hurricane that the defense civil control to cancel all the activities until a new warning but this time was not for a hurricane if not for diligence lack from the provincial center of the music until the same installation of the party square for electricity lack in the scenario; while the public that witnessed was of inside of and outside of the country that came to enjoy the concerts they were already a little restless for that it was already 12:00 in the night and signs of concerts were not still seen since they were unaware to what was happening until the government's car came and suddenly the car of the electric company appears and they put the electricity, this should not happen but it passes since this it is informed in advance by all the counties where was carried out the tour if it had been a singer like Silvio Rodriguez, Buena Fe, Carlos Varela, or until the same Cándido Fabré and his Band for this way to say it and that they excuse me for the comparison this doesn't happen they had until the best audio of all Granma, while was given solution to the problem it was already thought that they would be carried out the concerts of swims her and unexpectedly callus a cloudburst of 15 minutes stops then all the extensions and lines were wet and that that nobody one was expected I cancel the so much concert it was that the residents of Bayamo and still but those that came from distant places and the bands that come from several countries of very far to offer some good concerts for the Cubans so that for people's blame that is not interested them didn't carry out this concert in the town of Bayamo, let us hope for the next edition in February of the 2016 this doesn't happen.

Mantis Atea is a grouping of Mexico of the city of QuerĂŠtaro.

1-Let us begin with these questions. As, when, this called Band arises Mantis Atea? And what meanings have the name of the Group?

Mantis Atea is the name with which I have presented my compositions since I am fourteen years old, in that moment it was me alone with a guitar and a box of rhythms recording in the reproducer of casettes of the house of my parents, later I began to make electronic music with the computer and h went up to the 2013 that was formed the one it assembles current to present us in the alternative Festival of that year in the city of QuerĂŠtaro, I didn't think that to the other musicians it will interest them to continue, but they liked the project and now we are a consolidated band. The meaning doesn't go more far from the contradiction that implies, an atheistic mantis it is simply something outside of the normal thing, I liked the concept and I have used it for almost twenty years like my artistic name.

2-In their musical proposal goods like the progressive Rock and influences of Jazz are appreciated, How is defined the music of Atheistic Mantis?

I would say that it is music with the energy of the rock, funk, and hip-hop, the freedom of the jazz and the density of the contemporary formal music. All in the one assemble we are lifelong rockers, but with the restlessness of not making it for the traditional road, for we toss it hand of the little thing that we know about these other styles

3 - Why did they stand out for the progressive Rock? Can one say that every day there are less bands at world level of this gender, should it be for the new styles of fashions at international level? That you tell us about this?

We don't have intention of being considered progressive; in fact I consider that our music is not so complicated. Undoubtedly there are disks of trendy that I have listened a lot and some influence will feel somewhere around, but to be honest step more time listening disks of John Coltrane, Jackie McLean, Tony Williams, Thousands Davis, things this way.

I don't believe that have less trendy bands at the present time, rather I see that the big ones record they have stopped to be interested in promoting this music type, we live in an era where everything is beginning to work good in an independent way, it has their advantages and disadvantages, there is a lot of good music in internet, the problem is that many good things pass unnoticed and one only knows a small part of all that is making around the world.

Speaking of fashions, definitively I see that these big ones record that survive they make circulate every time colder and simpler things, it is something with what the independent artists have to fight, in all ways we offer another thing and precisely for that reason it is that we survive, it continues people that looks for well made things that you/they pay for a disk existing and that they attend the concerts. While we all have clear for what reason that makes we make and let us don't hope to become millionaires with this type of projects, we will be happy and in balance with the reality.

4- I know that Mantis Atea to engraving a called disk Mantis Atea in direct with the record Black moon. What you can tell us about this disk?

The disk was a friendly project between Black Moon and me, in the moment that was recorded it was not still sure that the other musicians wanted to continue working as band, we had not seen each other in weeks after the Alternative Festival, but I eat they already knew well the topics and I liked the result a lot, I found to record it for if we didn't play later again. The Autonomous University of QuerĂŠtaro lent us for one night a theater in downtown, we get the necessary team and we record everything in some hours. The mixture and audio were carried out in the study of the record one with a lot of calm in the later months and we had clever a printer of 500 copies in the spring of the 2014.

The design was made by Alejandra Warrior, a great artist visual and dear friend with who I always wanted to work something like that.

5 - Felipe the cover of the disk for who was made? And the pictures?

The picture of the cover is of Ita Pineda, he took it in the Alternative Festival, but Ale Warrior it altered it digitally. The pictures of the interior are of Ita and of Quetzal Rosso.

6 - You have offered several concerts for different cities of Mexico and in festivals like the Alternative Festival; and the festival international summer Jazz 2014; and now the Cubans had the great privilege of having to this group in the 22 Pilgrimages of May 2015 in the city of HolguĂ­n and in different places inside the island. As I understand did they have to collect funds for this trip you. Talk us about this and how did they go it by Cuba?

Yes, the decision of going to Cuba implied to sell concerts to the Institute of Culture of QuerĂŠtaro, to universities and to organize concerts for our bill to be able to cover our expenses, without a doubt it was worthwhile. The whole trip was a very pleasing experience, our presentations left us very satisfied and I believe that the public was taken a pleasant surprise with our music.

7 - in that place of the island of Cuba had more support on the part of the public? Since the great majority that you attend the rock concerts in Cuba are rockers?

We notice it, in the rock concerts it was a little complicated to convince the public, few applauses at the beginning but at the end of each show they were always brought near people to congratulate us, in the Havana we play in the Vixen and the Crow, a jazz place, and it was us of marvel with people from the first topic.

8- What is your opinion about the Cuban rocks banda that played where Mantis Atea played too?

I loved a band of Reggae with three singers that unfortunately I don't remember its name neither of what it leaves of the island they are. Also got me the

attention a coalition band it would originate of Bayamo, the drummer had we charmed with everything that ago. I am attracted by easiness a lot with which they incorporate elements from its folklore to contemporary styles. The percussion in its country is unbeatable.

9- Do you think make a video of Mantis Atea about the concerts given here in Cuba?

Yes, there are some, they will already go appearing in YouTube.

10 - Some day we see to this noted Mexican group of the City of QuerĂŠtaro for Cuba again?

We would love it, we pass it of marvel, people that we already miss a lot knew and personally strange a lot the food of there, I am for sure if the things are given we will return sooner than late.

11-Some words to the Cubans and to everyone who likes Mantis Atea We are vastly grateful with people that supported us over there, stiller with people than he/she gave us some their time to listen to us, we hope our music has caused them something and we will make the entire possible one to return to its beautiful country.
