WHAT IS PROGRAMMABLE LOGIC CONTROLLER (PLC) AND WHAT ARE ITS USES?

A Programmable Logic Controller, or PLC, is a special-purpose computer used to control industrial processes. It usually has a small screen and keyboard for entering instructions, and a number of input and output connectors to link it to devices such as sensors and motors. PLCs were originally developed in the early 1960s to replace hard-wired relay logic controls in factories. Since then, they have become an essential part of many automated systems. PLC manufacturers in India specially design a digital computer for industrial control applications. It receives an input signal from a sensor or other input device and then calculates and outputs a control signal to one or more devices such as motors, valves, or solenoids.

KEY FEATURES OF PLC: While PLCs can be very complex devices, they typically have a few key features that are essential for their operation. These features include input/output (I/O) modules, CPU modules, memory modules, and power supplies. I/O modules are used to interface with the outside world, while CPU modules process the information from the I/O modules. Memory modules store the programs that are used by the CPU modules, and power supplies provide power to the other components of the PLC. Together, these components work to control industrial electronic equipment.
