REAL VIRTUALITY MACHINE

This performance is about becoming real us.

COMMUNICATION IS CHANGING... When have we exactly been friends again with our childhood friends? Are we really called friends? We wear tags for social status and create virtual connections, then change our initial choices. We dublicate ourselves online and have di erent experiences by being at vairous places at the same time. Yes, we dublicate and also transform ourselves. We transform to persons who are not us, we dream di erent dreams and try to earn virtual successes. Video game producers have seen its coming so long ago. They invite people to forms which they can feel in real, starting with game cards. Such that, initial choices have been changed again and virtual us has become real us. VIRTUALITY vs. REALITY Worlds, constructed with images may be perceived much more easily and assumed as real. Many images, which we have collected with our eyes and saved in the memory, maybe neglected because they are shame or nasty, have returned to reality again. They created virtual realities, which we cannot see but desire, cannot dare but think about. They have been accepted by our virtual avatars. WHO IS REAL? WHICH ONE? While we come and go between these two consepts, the connection between of them has become stronger and unbreakable, and also used for each other. Now, it cannot be discussed which one is more real and which one is more virtual. While our mortal bodies mourn for the death news, we -with our avatars- continue to kill people online. Once schizophrenia was an illness, now it is a part of daily life. We continue to transform through these characters -or avatarsconstantly and all these mediae, connected eachother, work as runner and creates di erent images, carry them from one to another. Are the feellings of these avatars who get these feelings from the users, really irrelevant from the users itselves? Characters created by computer based media, are the re ection of us, also they dont seem like us, but they are more real than us. On these mediae, where we log in as users, we are not really users, we are the re ection itself.

To go somewhere, rst you should want to go there. To want it, you should need it or desire it. You cannot reach pornographic objects, but still want it.

Request is in direct proportion to absance. One gives strenght to another. When you are far from it, you become closer, closer to itself or its image.

The action ‘’reaching‘’ contains an aim. But it also contains a nal. That’s why, you may not want to reach. You just keep trying. Visiable objects are tricky. You cannot reach it when you can see it.

If there is possibility, you use it. Some are just bored, some wants more and more and continue...

Only the survivors make their own choices. They do not wait for it. Choices give the reality. Real you, it is transformed by your choices.

Propeller works as WATERBREAK, helps to produce electricity.

Air goes in from the entrance and walks all over the building, then goes out. So, it keeps building self climated.

Real idendity is possible by maximized feelings. Is it possible to consantrate these feelings collected di erent neighborhoods of KADIKOY?

>>>FACADE DETAIL

By gathering all the small metal sheets together, it is possible to create a visual e ect between visiable and unvisiable.

>>>Chances create choices, and vice-versa. While walking through the ground oor, it is possible to experience the stage 30 meters below. While listening the music box just next to the stage-tunnel, they will be all mixed with the visions and the sounds.

SECTIONAL THERAPY CENTER

While we get our all things done by mobile tools, how mobile are we?

There are “industrial”, “hospital” and “excavation” sites which separates the area in 3 pieces. There is not any space to people meet in any condition.

>>>

Sections de nes the building itself. Walls and the oorings get in shape by the change of the sections. Working with di erent section models helps to shape the building.

3 di erent buildings are designed by di erent programs according to the specialities of its own area. Virtual mobile tools help to connect these buildings. Plans and sections are overlapped in a virtual map.

In the building there is a circulation core which swift in a point to reach the spaces through a speci c direction.

Even there is a virtual connection between these 3 buildingds, visual connection in an another purpose to interact people to communicate with other areas.

>>> permaculture

The primary agenda of the movement has been assist people to become more self reliant through the design and development of productive and sustainable gardens and farms. >>> permaculture market

The main purpose of this building is to create a food circulation. It is possible to grow some vegetables and herbs, then produce and sell them. Ground oor of the building serves as a market where the foods are sold, after the production cycle within the building.

PROJECT RENEWAL

In Zeytinburnu, this is a neighbourhood where the ground oor is used by leather shop owners and the rest of them are dwellings. While these two programs share the same streets same yards, they never connect with each other. So according to the master program, buildings shoul work through 2 sides. Inside and outside. Inside, inyards and domestic programs are located. On the outside, leather showrooms have the chance to connect with the costumer, not the local people.
