Motion 1
Proposal: To discuss the Fo Guang Shan 60th Anniversary “Six Decades of Dharma Propagation, A Century of Remembrance” initiative
Description: Fo Guang Shan is the Dharma abode for all BLIA members. Next year (2026), May 16 will be the 60th anniversary of Fo Guang Shan’s establishment, and the 22nd day of the 7th month on the lunar calendar will be the 100th anniversary of the birthday of Founding President Venerable Master Hsing Yun.
Method: 1. All chapters can proactively support related Fo Guang Shan events. Chapter and subchapter events can incorporate the theme of “Six Decades of Dharma Propagation, A Century of Remembrance.”
2. Heart Sutra cultivation:
(1) From now to May 16, 2026, this will be combined with the Forunding Anniversary Global Simultaneous Sutra Transcription and Heart Sutra Cultivation Dedication.
(2) Cultivation can be done via recitation or transcription. There are no restrictions regarding recipient, number of sessions, or location.
(3) All chapters should actively promote this initiative, and record the number of sessions at https:// bliayad.blia.org.tw/Bliaroc/virtualcultivation.aspx

Proposal: To discuss supporting the theme of the 2025 General Conference Keynote Speech, “Harmony and Peace.”
Description: In his keynote speech for the 2025 General Conference, “Harmony and Peace,” President Most Venerable Hsin Bau hopes that BLIA members can rely on the Dharma to extinguish the Three Poisons (greed, anger, and ignorance) and cultivate the Three Trainings (morality, meditative concentration, and wisdom). They should actualize this within their families and in society with inner joy, with the hopes of achieving the ideals of social harmony and world peace.
Method: 1. Promote the conference keynote speech “Harmony and Peace.” The speech can be used as a material for study groups. Beginning October 18, Chinese and English transcripts can be downloaded at the World Headquarters website: www.blia.org.
2. In accordance with the conference theme “Harmony and Peace,” to mutually promote the actualization of this ideal, events such as speeches, forums, competitions (e.g., essays, drawings, photography, short videos) related to the theme can be hosted.

Proposal: To discuss the 2026 Chan and Pure Land Light-Offering Prayer Service.
Description: In accordance with the Buddhist spirit of unconditional loving-kindness and impartial compassion, and to pray for world peace, an online prayer service will be held. Fo Guang Shan Monastery will serve as the organizer, BLIA Chunghua will serve as the institution-in-charge, and BLIA chapters, BLIA members, and branch temples around the world will serve as co-organizers.
Method: 1. Date and venue: March 7 to 8, 2026 (Taiwan Time) at Taipei Arena
2. BLIA members from all chapters are welcome to register for in-person attendance. Those overseas can also join the cultivation by wearing their chanting robes at home and watching the Beautiful Life TV channel or the BLIA YouTube channel.

Proposal: To discuss hosting Global Online Study Groups in support of Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s Humanistic Buddhism Dharma Transmission Records.
Description: This set of books is divided into ten major chapters on Humanistic Buddhism— theory and system; actualization and infrastructure; the development of the monastic order; the position of lay disciples; the integration of Buddhist culture and faith; the modernization of Buddhism; international expansion; cross-strait exchanges in Buddhism and culture; the future of Buddhism in Taiwan; and contemporary cultivation methods. It is a holistic and systematic organization of the Venerable Master’s theories and applications of Humanistic Buddhism, and the best pathway towards understanding the Complete Works of Venerable Master Hsing Yun. Venerables, Lay Dharma Lecturers, and academic experts are invited to share their learnings through online guided readings and forums, and lead members to better understanding of the different perspectives and principles of Humanistic Buddhism.
Method:
1. The Institute of Humanistic Buddhism and the Humanistic Buddhism Reading Association will jointly plan the 2025 Online Study Group. They will conduct guided readings of Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s Humanistic Buddhism Dharma Transmission Records for BLIA members around the world. All chapters are invited to inform and encourage their staff and members to participate.
2. Time: (Taiwan Time) January 19, February 2, March 16, April 20, May 18, and June 15, 2026 (Monday) 7:30 PM–9:30 PM
4. All are invited to subscribe to the Humanistic Buddhism Reading Association YouTube Channel @hbreading.

Proposal: To discuss the 2026 Buddhism Examination.
Description: Founding President Venerable Master Hsing Yun once said that Buddhism examinations bring the following benefits: fostering a culture of reading, promoting the purification of human minds, universalizing moral education, and strengthening Dharma propagation efforts.
Method: 1. BLIA World Headquarters Lay Dharma Lecturer/Teacher Fellowship Committee will serve as the organizer. BLIA a Chunghua, BLIA North America, and BLIA Malaysia Federation will serve as institutions-in-charge.
2. Materials:
● Chinese: The Complete Works of Venerable Master Hsing Yun Vol.123 Modern Thoughts, wise mentality
● English: Modern Thoughts, Wise Mentality

Proposal: To discuss the continued actualization of efforts in accordance with “Environmental and Spiritual Preservation.”
Description: Climate change and global warming have become highly pressing issues around the world. In accordance with the spirit of Humanistic Buddhism and the vision of “Environmental and Spiritual Preservation,” BLIA has continued to promote initiatives such as T-Earth, Vege Plan A, and VegRun. We have presented our spectacular results at the United Nations Climate Change Conference, showcasing how the environmental efforts of BLIA members worldwide support 12 of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, including climate action and protecting the ecosystem.
Method:
Resolution:
1. Encourage all chapters to promote VegRun events, and use the VegRun app to take action globally.
2. Conditions permitting, host T-Earth afforestation events to protect the ecosystem and establish forests.
3. Collaborate with schools and business on vegetarian bazaars as a means to promote Vege Plan A, which advocates for a transition of dietary practices and an awareness of carbon footprint reduction.
4. BLIA attended the 2024 Climate Change Conference in Baku, Azerbaijan, and the 2025 conference in Brazil. We will continue to secure participation in future conferences, and share the results of BLIA members’ efforts towards environmentalism around the world.

Proposal: To confirm the renaming of the 2026 International Buddha’s Light Young Adult Conference to the 2026 Buddha’s Light Youth Summit—A Journey of Retracing
Description: To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Fo Guang Shan Founding Master Ven. Master Hsing Yun and the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Fo Guang Shan, the 2026 Buddha’s Light Youth Summit— A Journey of Retracing will be jointly hosted by Fo Guang Shan Tsung Lin University, BLIA-YAD, and the Buddha’s Light Scouts. The event aims to deepen the understanding and engagement between youths from different Buddha’s Light systems. United, Buddha’s Light youths can give their best effort towards propagating Humanistic Buddhism.
Proposal: To discuss the promotion of 365 Days for Travelers: Wisdom from Chinese Literary and Buddhist Classics.
Description: First published in 2014, 365 Days for Travelers has been translated into 17 languages and printed in 21 different versions. Founding President Ven. Master Hsing Yun hoped that the book can bring energy to those who are weary, and clarity to those who are wronged. He hoped that it could be a bright lamp that illuminates people’s minds and guides them through life.
Method: 1. All chapters are welcome to request the books as gifts to hotels worldwide, and host gifting ceremonies.
2. A total of 17 languages and 21 versions are available—Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese Paperback, French, ChineseEnglish, Korean, Hindi Paperback, Portuguese-English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Japanese, German, Arabic, Chinese-Thai, Brazilian Portuguese-English, Swedish, Indonesian, Hindi Hardcover, Portuguese, Burmese, and English.
3. Russian and Norwegian versions are currently being translated, and will be published upon completion.

Proposal: To discuss hosting the 2026 BLIA Cup Choir Competition.
Description: Fo Guang Choirs across the world are encouraged to perform Buddhist songs and Sounds of the Human World songs composed by Founding President Venerable Master Hsing Yun. Their beautiful performances demonstrate the power of Dharma propagation through music; not only can they add new dimensions to Buddhist music, but they can also spread virtue and beauty across society.
Method: 1. All continents should host first and second rounds before June 30, 2026.
2. After second rounds have concluded, each continent should recommend 1–3 teams to attend the General Conference and Grand Final on October 2 at Taipei Dome, Taiwan.

Proposal: To discuss hosting the Beauty of Buddha’s Light Online Photography Training.
Description: In accordance with the spirit of Humanistic Buddhism, to encourage BLIA members to utilize modern technology and cellphone photography to capture the truth, virtue, and beauty of the human world, the Beauty of Buddha’s Light Online Photography Training will be held. Classes on photography techniques will be held online, and BLIA members are encouraged to support the Beauty of Buddha’s Light Photography Contest and spread positivity.
Method: 1. BLIA World Headquarters Videos, Paintings, and Art Committee will serve as the organizer. BLIA Singapore will serve as the institution-in-charge.

Proposal: To discuss hosting the Three Acts of Goodness International Microfilm Contest.
Description: To support Founding President Ven. Master Hsing Yun’s Three Acts of Goodness—doing good deeds, speaking good words, and thinking good thoughts, the Three Acts of Goodness International Microfilm Contest was established. To spread truth, virtue, and beauty across the human world, filmmakers around the world are encouraged to produce short videos that highlight the most beautiful stories in life, and promote love and peace around the world.
Method: 1. Theme: “What to Doubt?”
Description: Small doubts lead to small realizations, great doubts lead to great realizations, and no doubts lead to no realizations. Without a question, how can there be an answer? Only with questions and doubts can there be contemplations and answers.
2. Time: (1) Web submissions: October 20, 2025–April 30, 2026 Web voting: May 20, 2026–May 31, 2026

Method: 1. Next year (2026) is the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Fo Guang Shan, and the 100th anniversary of the birthday of Founding President Venerable Master Hsing Yun. For next year, we aim to host a General Conference to bring BLIA members around the world back to Fo Guang Shan Monastery and discuss the future of our organization.

03 Q:Da Jue Temple is a large place. How can I confirm my event and dining locations?
A : Please refer to the information on your event badge and head to your designated dining location.
04 Q:Will there be a currency exchange at the event?
A
: No, there will be no currency exchange at Da Jue Temple. If you need to exchange Renminbi, please do so at the airport.
05 Q:I did not bring enough Renminbi with me, but would like to donate to the temple or buy goods at the event bazaar. What should I do?
A:1. Those who wish to donate money to Da Jue Temple may do so through their temple. You do not need to bring the money to Da Jue Temple.
2. For those who wish to purchase goods or make specific donations during the event, the transactions can be logged in advance. After the end of the event, you may settle the transactions with your local branch temple in your local currency. Based on official announcements, branch temples will follow up accordingly.
06 Q:Is there anything to keep in mind regarding accommodation?
A:1. Please follow the hotel’s rules while dining. Do not bring any food or drink on your own. Those who do so will be charged a service fee of 15% of the cost of the meal, which must be paid at their own expense.
2. The hotel will provide one bottle of water per person free of charge. Additional bottles can be purchased at your own expense.
3. Checkin will start for everyone at 3:00 PM. Please check out before 12:00 PM on October 19. Those who wish to check in earlier or check out later must register and pay in advance.
07 Q: Is there anything to keep in mind regarding transportation?
A:1. The BLIA uniform will not be worn during arrival. BLIA members and executives attending the event can identify event staff by their handheld signs and event staff attire.
2. From October 16 to 17, those heading to Da Jue Temple from the hotel should board the bus according to the number on their event badge.
3. October 19 departures:
1. Those taking conference transportation from Da Jue Temple to the airport or railway station (with buses designated beforehand): When you leave the hotel in the morning, please take your luggage on the bus to Da Jue Temple. After lunch, you will take the same bus to the airport or railway station.
Note: In the evening of October 18, the Da Jue Temple transportation team will reissue bus numbers for BLIA members taking conference transportation from Da Jue Temple to the airport or railway station.
2. Those leaving on their own: When you leave the hotel in the morning, please take your luggage to the luggage storage area on the first floor before boarding the bus to Da Jue Temple. After lunch, you will be taken from Da Jue Temple to the hotel, after which you may take your luggage and leave on your own.
3. Pre-conference tour (Chunghua) and post-conference tour (all): When you leave the hotel in the morning, please take your luggage to the luggage storage area on the first floor before boarding the bus to Da Jue Temple. Please put your luggage with those from your group. Jiuhe Travel Agency will head to the hotel and load your luggage on the bus. In the afternoon, they will pick you up at Da Jue Temple.
