Great design can emerge from any source. I draw inspiration from the unique whether it’s nature’s simplicity and efficiency, the expressive power of art, or the distinctiveness of personal experiences. Refugee homes are meant to be temporary and not a permanent residence. But as time has passed, political and environmental problems have shown that they are not easily fixed and take a long time to resolve. Unfortunately for refugees this means that what they thought was a temporary shelter is now turning into their permanent home.

This domestic model was formed using a structural insulating panel (SIP) type of system.

The domestic program is separated into interior spaces for fostering relationships and relaxation.

There are two independent and complementary modules that contain between them the covered exterior space that acts as cushioning and extension.
The light permeates a majority of the interior spaces through large southern facing windows and doors.
