DESIGNER MANIFESTO

TIMELESS DESIGN

Great design can emerge from any source. I draw inspiration from the unique whether it’s nature’s simplicity and efficiency, the expressive power of art, or the distinctiveness of personal experiences. My goal is to craft spaces that embody these influences, resulting in timeless, creative, and distinguished designs.

PROJECTS

DRAFTING 1 SKETCHING

Introduction to drafting stresses the importance of applying knowledge of pencil line weights, measuring to scale, & arranging space according to the fit of a building

These hand rendered views and sketches showcase the importance of color & shadow while accurately representing what the interior of a space will look like.

HOUSING TYPOLOGY

The goal of this study was to develop a deeper understanding of global methods and styles for dwellings Design research strategies for housing typology were developed and translated into graphic precedent studies.

RESIDENTIAL DESIGN

The goal of this project was to design an all accessible home that supports aging in place and recognizes the families new normal.

INTERIOR ARCHITECUTRE

The main focus of this project was to create a acoustical breakout space that housed an air duct system, air vents, sprinkler system & pipes. 7

DIGITAL DESIGN

This project showcases a small café with a commercial kitchen and ADA compliant restroom AutoCAD, SketchUp & material selection expertise were applied to the process.

COMMERCIAL DESIGN

This project focused on the interior design and branding of a commercial company Partea is a loose leaf tea shop that incorporates a natural, calming aesthetic through the interior. Pathfinder Institute is a Career and Technical Center that revolves around creating an adaptable environment that can be transformed to meet the changing needs of students & educators.

Refugee: A person or group of people who have been forced to leave their home in order to escape natural disasters wars, or persecution

Refugee homes come in all different shapes and sizes Housing is temporary so most commonly you will see refugee homes in the form of a tent or other form of a collapsible home.

Homes can also be seen in the form of a shipping container which has been converted into a temporary shelter

In certain cities vacant buildings are transformed into housing for refugees who have fled there from their home

Jordan is a flat desert plateau stretching east and west from the Syrian borders to the banks of the Jordan river.

History & Evolution

Many refugees that flee to Zaatari come from Syria because of the violence from the civil war starting in March of 2011 and is still happening today.

Refugee homes are meant to be temporary and not a permanent residence. But as time has passed, political and environmental problems have shown that they are not easily fixed and take a long time to resolve. Unfortunately for refugees this means that what they thought was a temporary shelter is now turning into their permanent home.

Because of the change of plans for temporary going on in Syria, the Zaatari camp has residents refugee housing plans change with grown and is becoming its own village of them. Housing has gone from regular tents and sorts. They offer schools for children within shipping containers to developed collapsible and recreation centers as well as gathering structures that are able to accommodate more spaces and hospitals for the Syrian room for families and their everyday activities

This domestic model was formed using a structural insulating panel (SIP) type of system.

The domestic program is separated into interior spaces for fostering relationships and relaxation.

Light&Shadow

There are two independent and complementary modules that contain between them the covered exterior space that acts as cushioning and extension.

The light permeates a majority of the interior spaces through large southern facing windows and doors.
