8 Core Values
Logos
Display Size
The display size will be dependent upon the requirements of the logo's display. Logo usage must always ensure legibility, no distortion and high quality in print or production.
White Space and Color Background
The logo must always maintain clear space around it. This will preserve the integrity of the logo, especially in large formats. The space around the logo must be at least equal to the width of the M-bar (x in the example shown). Add at least 0.5 cm brand-safe area around the logo.
If on a white document, the surrounding area should be white. If the document has a colored background use the Reverse logo.
M-bar width
MI | 2022 Mercer Brand Guidelines
Logos
Each Mercer Operation has its own identity logo, including colours and typeface, that collectively brand Mercer as one organization. The logos are the pillars of identity of Mercer - internally and externally - and its characteristics ensure a consistent image of the company wherever the logo is represented.
The Mercer "M"
The Mercer "M" is representative of the solid architectural lines of timber products forming a tree peak.
The Mercer "M" icon should rarely be used as a standalone logo. When utilizing the "M" icon on its own, it must never be reproduced at less than 1.0 cm in height on print materials. If working with an external designer creating on-screen materials, have them use 27 pixels in height.
Corporate Logo
The Corporate logo includes the Mercer “M”, the wordmark ‘MERCER,’ and the word ‘international’ to the right of the wordmark. The Corporate logo is the only logo to have the division location to the right side of the wordmark (MERCER).
The Corporate logo will be utilized when the visuals represent Mercer Corporate materials.
MI | 2022 Mercer Brand Guidelines
Logos
Mercer Main Logo
The Mercer Main logo is made up of the “M” icon and the wordmark (MERCER).
This is the main logo of Mercer. It is to be used when representing multiple Mercer Operations or Mercer as a 'whole.'
The Mercer Main logo may also be used when printing options prohibit the use of a Mercer Operational logo (i.e. merchandise, workwear, hats, mugs, etc.).
Mercer Operational Logo
The Operational logo is made up of the “M” icon, the wordmark (MERCER) and the division title (e.g. peace river) below the wordmark.
Mercer Reverse Logo
The Reverse logo switches the Mercer logo colors, outlining the "M" in white and using white for the wordmark (MERCER).
Reminder
Each Operation is encouraged to use its specific logo for advertising purposes unless printing options prohibit its use.
This option is only to be used when adding it to a darker background and only if absolutely required.
Do not stretch, angle or alter a logo in any way and do not use background colors outside of brand palette.
Mercer Greyscale Logo
The Greyscale logo is only to be used if color printing is not available

Color Palette
Mercer's color palette includes two layers: primary and secondary palettes.
Primary: Mercer Blue / Navy Blue / Dark Grey
Secondary: Medium Grey / Light Grey / Green / Gold
Emphasis Colors: Gold and Green
In general, the use of the gold should emphasize safety in Mercer collateral. Green should be used to highlight items related to the environment.
White as a background
The use of white and clear space are primary elements in the Mercer brand style to ensure the logo and Mercer information visually stand out.
Color Systems and Gradient Coloring
There are five central color systems in design: Hex, CMYK, Pantone, RGB and RAL. Colors should be used at 100% value; however, gradients may be used as filters in designs but never over the Mercer logo.
There may be other instances where gold or green may be used; however, overuse of these colors may devalue their ability to be recognized as a 'safety' or 'environment' color.
Red is to be used sparingly and only to emphasize critical and/or safety information.

Merchandise and Wearables
Each Operation manages their own merchandise, including wearables, utilizing preferred vendors or external providers.
We encourage you to use the Mercer Main logo where possible, as this format can be easier for vendors to manage, and using the local logo can be difficult for embroidery. Using the Mercer Main logo also allows for our Operations to share merchandise amongst themselves.
If looking for a more 'personalized' touch, please use your Operational logo for your internal wearables and merchandise.
