4 Course Meal: A Quick Guide The tradition of the full-course meal is gaining momentum, and a large number of cultures enjoy multi-course meals with variations in courses. Invariably eaten in the evening or afternoon, the tradition has its roots in French haute cuisine. In family restaurants in Jaipur, Mumbai, and Pune like cities, the emphasis is given on having a full-course dinner that can consist of 3, 4, 6, and even 10 courses. In its extreme, the courses can go beyond 10; however, the most preferred one is the four-course meal. According to a study conducted with 48 participants, satiety is found after eating a four-course meal. Therefore, preference is given to four-course meal in Indian tradition.
