This little 75-page book will interest Wichita/Delano history buffs. It will also be a good read for those wanting to know what it was like to struggle and make do, during the Depression Era. But, most of all, this tribute to a Delano icon is meant for people who knew and dearly loved Arkie over many decades. It contains lots of photos, stories, and interesting tidbits about his long life. Those Wichitans who still miss Arkie can visit their old friend one more time, by reading eleven heart-warming and informative memoirs that Arkie, himself, wrote about growing up in Waldron, Arkansas.
