COA: If you became a millionaire over night what would you buy? JFP: Stocks and a truck bed to build a tiny house on. Not a tiny house as in a house but smaller. More like the tiny house movement as in downsizing. Because I really want to be able to just have a car with my house dragging behind me, and be able to drive around Europe with an EU passport, and just like live everywhere. And it’s a lot cheaper too. COA: What was the last thing you bought? JFP: Pokémon Red for the original Game Boy. COA: Have you ever won a trophy? If so for what? Laura’s Cooking Column: Salted Caramel Apple Cider Baked Donuts

Laura Madeira | Co-A&L and Visual Content Editor Nowadays, when people think about fall, only one thing comes to mind: pumpkin spice. However, apple cider is another fall staple, and gets relatively no appreciation. Here is the recipe to change that. These apple cider donuts will give your tastebuds a warm hug as you embrace the lovely season of fall while hopefully huddled under a warm blanket by a fire. The salted caramel icing adds the perfect amount of sweetness to pair with the donuts. Serve these at any gathering and get ready for majot complements. Donuts 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour 1/4 cup cornstarch 1 tsp ground cinnamon 1 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp kosher salt 1 1/2 cups unsalted butter, room temperature 1 1/2 cups sugar 3 eggs

3 egg yolks 1 cup unfiltered apple cider Caramel Icing 3 cups powdered sugar 2 tsp dark corn syrup pinch of kosher salt 2-4 tbsp boiling water 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup water 1/2 cup heavy cream kosher salt to garnish LAURA MADEIRA/COA

Preheat oven to 350° F, and coat your Donut Pan with cooking spray. In a large bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, kosher salt. Whisk to combine and aerate and set aside while you do the next couple of steps. Cream together the 1 1/2 cups sugar and 1 1/2 cups butter. Stir in the 3 large eggs, 3 egg yolks until well-blended. Fold in the dry ingredients and the apple cider. Do not overmix to ensure tender donuts. Spoon or pipe the cake batter into the cavities of your donut pan. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. I recommend cooling the donuts in the pan to avoid breaking them while unmolding. While donuts are cooling, make the base for the caramel icing. Whisk powdered sugar, corn syrup and salt and then whisk in boiling water, a tablespoon at a time until the icing comes together. In a medium saucepan, stir together sugar and water and bring to a full boil. Leave it alone to cook over high heat for about 7-8 minutes or until a nice amber color develops. Then remove from heat and pour in the heavy cream slowly, whisking constantly. Stir caramel into the icing, dip the top of each donut in and sprinkle immediately with kosher salt. 11:00 A.M: The first thing I do when I wake up is [go to the bathroom]. After that I take my clothes off and put them back on. 11:30 A.M: Then I eat toast and eggs for breakfast. But it’s kinda late in the day so I guess you could call it brunch. 12:00-2:00 P.M: I watch college football.

Avalon Edwards | Guest Writer A dandelion Not a whole dandelion, mind you, Just an endearing tuft Can drift aimlessly for hours, centuries, it seems, Able to life herself when the wind decides it is time, An only tickles the backs of our calves when the summer air beats her down. But the grass! The grass is sure, the grass is sturdy beneath our hiking boots. Even the strongest of winds cannot topple her, Not even the most power-hungry stars Or the most nefarious rains.

2:00-5:00 P.M: I usually play Madden with friends for a while. 6:00-8:00 P.M: Then I’ll go grab dinner with friends. We mostly go to Su Hong and Chipotle. 8:00 P.M. -12:00: After dinner I’ll go out and hit the town, [...] mostly streaking in very public places. Or just hopping in random girls’ cars while they’re at red lights. It usually goes over pretty well. 12:30: The last thing I do before I go to sleep is watch some ESPN. Clothes are kinda restrictive so I just sleep butt naked. What’s the last thing you think about before you go to bed? “Charles Wetherell.”

Riddle: I’m tall when I’m young and I’m short when I’m old. What am I?

But the dandelion is a different weed, a weaker weed. (I hope you know) The dandelion cannot root herself in the ground, (I miss you so) she just floats (please) in migration (follow me) to the dandelion fields.
