It is a stage to decontaminate the water, in which solids are removed through the use of grates or thick grates and grit traps. ● Primary treatment: physical-chemical process carried out in sedimentation tanks to remove a percentage of the pollutants and remove them from the tanks (they are stored at the bottom). Tanks are constructed of concrete and generally have pumping systems. ● Secondary treatment: based on biological principles, beneficial bacteria are used to eliminate certain types of contaminants that did not disappear during the primary treatment. ● Advanced treatments: up to this point almost 85% of the pollutants have been eliminated from the wastewater, now it will be necessary to remove the nutrients that allow the growth of algae and lilies, among them, phosphorus and ammonia, and this is achieved through Filtration and Disinfection. ● Filtration. It is made with granular materials of various types such as fine sand and coal. ● Disinfection. The final stage in which chemicals such as chlorine and special lights are used. ● Objectives met by residual plants ● They are infrastructure projects that solve in a timely manner the needs of sanitation and water supply for any city. ● They reduce the environmental impact. ● They promote alternative sources for the supply of water in the industrial sector.

Functioning of waste Water Treatment Plant: Once the wastewater has entered the plant, it is made to flow through large filter bars that remove large objects and particles, such as sand and gravel, to pass through a spraying machine that shreds organic matter, such as paper.

After this process, the primary phase of wastewater treatment begins, to transfer the water in stationary tanks where the oily materials float to the surface and are removed by purifiers, while the solids fall to the bottom where the sludge is formed and collected.
