Autumn at Wimpole Wimpole Hall, Arrington, Cambridgeshire SG8 0BW

Early November is often the best time to see wonderful autumn colours in Wimpole’s ancient parkland and woods. Download a ‘Wimpole Walks’ leaflet and follow one of five walks around the estate or learn more about the tree collection with their ‘Tree Trail Map’. Book ahead and by 3.00pm latest on the day before you visit: www.nationaltrust.org.uk.

Autumn in Cambridge Beechwoods, Wort’s Causeway, Cambridge CB22 3FB

For somewhere new perhaps, a small but impressive wood of majestic beeches with walking trails (dogs on leads welcome). Look out for green and great-spotted woodpeckers, nuthatches and bramblings feeding on the beech mast. Park opposite in lay-by on Wort’s Causeway. Sadler’s Wells Take Part - Company of Elders

University of Cambridge Museums Reopening

Three more Cambridge museums have re-opened: The Museum of Zoology, Sedgwick Museum and the Museum of Classical Archaeology. See www.museums.cam.ac.uk for timings and further details - tickets are free and must be booked in advance. The Botanic Garden, Fitzwilliam Museum and Kettle’s Yard are already open.

Saturday 21st November, 2.00pm to 4.00pm Wellcome Genome Campus Virtual Open Saturday

A variety of activities, topical conversations and virtual tour of the 125 acre site, including the beautiful 18th century Hinxton Hall. Free but please register in advance at: www.wgc.org.uk/engage/events.

Sunday 22nd November, 10.30am or at any time during the day Arthur Rank Hospice Charity’s Festive 5k Run

Run or walk a 5k route of your choice, preferably starting at 10.30am so you know you’re not doing this alone! Fancy dress encouraged and all entrants registered before 18th November receive a free Santa hat and finisher’s medal. Raising much-needed funds for hospice care in Cambridgeshire.
