Roody Mental Game Overview

INTRODUCTION You live in a time of great turmoil. AI has taken over all official governance of the world. It has determined that the only way to save the planet is to eliminate all human life. Humankind has retreated into the shadows in order to survive. AI have developed special mines all over the world to gather powerful energy to fuel their evil empire.

You are a Shayder. Your mission in life is to destroy the AI Mines and steal their energy and convert it into materials that help you destroy their mines.

Once you find a mine you set up your weapon system around it. You need to destroy all the mined ore as it comes to the surface. You only have one shot at the cubes of ore before they move into the processor and turned into energy. Each cube of ore has a weak side that you need to hit with your weapon. If you miss, then the cube gets processed and fills up the enemy energy tank.

If it gets completely full then you lose a life.

If you are accurate with your shots you will fill your tank first and you will destroy the mine. Destroying the mine will cause the enemy to send troops to attack you. You will need to utilize your missile system in order to destroy the AI machines before they take you out. If all AI machines are destroyed you will move onto the next level. Along your journey, all over the globe, you will earn ancient scrolls that will help in your quest to end the reign of the AI.

GAME CONCEPT SETTING Rhythm/Roleplay game set in a dystopian, AI controlled world.

PLAYER ROLE Travel the earth in order to find and destroy the AI mines. In doing so, you will harvest materials that help strengthen the Shayder resistance.

Shayder Design

UNIQUE GAME POINTS The game features not only rhythm gameplay but an additional “stage 2” gamemode that includes a more traditional RPG style.

The game will feature original songs for each level of play.

The catchy nature of these songs will keep bringing you back to try and perfect your skill in playing each song.

You will explore a sprawling world map spanning various global regions, battling against region-specific AI opponents.

Weapon Design

GAME CONCEPT CORE GAMEPLAY Cubes appear from below the level as each level starts.

Cubes move from below the ground upwards. You then tap the right or left weapons in order to destroy these cubes and harvest material from them. Every time you hit the correct side of the cube, your tank fills up. If you hit the wrong side or miss hitting a cube, the enemy’s tank fills up. The level is over when you reach the end of the song or if the enemy tank fills. If the enemy tank fills before the song is over, you will lose a life. At the end of each level, you receive a set number of coins for completing it. The amount is based on the difficulty of the level and how full your tank is. You get bonus coins for your accuracy. The coins and material earned from each level can be used to upgrade/purchase equipment and weapons.

RPG ASPECT Roody Mental introduces a dynamic and immersive dimension to the gaming experience. While the Rhythm Stage focuses on rhythmic gameplay, the Battle Stage holds the the core RPG and strategy gameplay. In this stage, you will engage in strategic decision-making to transcend the boundaries of traditional rhythm games. You will assemble and lead a team of shayders, to shoot off rockets with unique abilities, strategically selecting them to overcome the enemy defences. Character progression, customization, and a captivating narrative all play a role in evolving gameplay to appeal to those seeking a gaming experience beyond the traditional rhythm genre.

Main Game Screen

GAME CONCEPT BATTLE STAGE After each level has been played, the song completed, there will be an opportunity for the player to access a secondary play mode. The mine will retract back down into the earth, and emerging from the hole will be a platoon of AI Drones.

The game now switches to attack the drones ,with select weapons, mode. The number of volleys and weapon types you have will be, in part, based upon your performance in the music portion of the game. As you progress, you can have up to 4 different missile systems. Each one will have a special bonus for being used in a corresponding environment.

Certain systems will work better in the Arctic regions for example. The goal is to destroy all the enemy drones. This secondary play mode is optional but insentivised you will earn additional coins and material for completing it.

Battle Stage Mockup

To keep the musical aspect to the game in this stage, we will be using a rhythm themed missile launch system. You will need to hit three to five buttons that are linked to a sequence of musical notes. If the you hit the buttons in time with the music then you will receive an accuracy bonus that will increase the overall damage.

THE MUSIC The game will feature over 300 original songs at launch, with more being added as time goes on. We commissioned music from artists all over the world as each stage takes place in a different region of earth. The songs used for each stage will include traditional instruments and rhythms that come from their respective region. Some examples include: • Lá Na Balada
