The Project FMM/RAS/298/MUL: Strengthening capacities, policies, and national action plans on prudent and responsible use of antimicrobials in fisheries was developed and implemented by the FAO to develop and/or enhance the knowledge, skills and capacity of the participating Competent Authorities on fisheries and aquaculture (People’s Republic of China, Malaysia, the Philippines and Viet Nam) as well as to assist them in the development and implementation of policies and national action plans (NAPs) on the prudent and responsible use of antimicrobials. In order to achieve this objective, three regional workshops were held in 2017 (Mangalore/India on 10-12 April; Putrajaya/Malaysia on 7-9 August; and Contains 17 papers delivered during the three workshops implemented under the auspices of the above-mentioned project. This volume addresses a wide range of topics that will assist in better understanding antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in aquaculture.
