César Giraldo Collection
Straight Lines Unexpected Curves
Design happens when a line experiences an unexpected curve and goes off into uncharted territory; a chance encounter that transcends initial ideas during creation.
This collection was inspired by my appreciation of the Art Deco movement and its effects on contemporary culture. Early on, I realized that the movement was not limited to a time in history. One sees hints of Art Deco in contemporary design and architecture everywhere, which I experience daily in Los Angeles and traveling around the world. One cannot deny the presence of this powerful movement and the impact on creativity in our present lives.
There are straight lines that start the wondrous passage, and there are curves that lead one to that creative destination. I have had these creative ideas fluttering in my mind for a long time. Straight Lines Unexpected Curves are the result of these ideas.
Sincerely, César
Giraldo
About the Designer
César Giraldo was born in Colombia, where as a child he discovered his love for color and form, which to date are the foundational elements of his design. Based in West Hollywood, CA, with national and international residential, commercial, and hospitality projects, César is the Founder and Principal Designer of César Giraldo Design.
César’s aesthetics can be defined as an ongoing dialogue between luxurious, innovative contemporary designs, and the timeless craftsmanship of the past. It is this juxtaposition of old meets new that inspires him to design unique, timeless interiors, and to continue finding innovative ways to creatively express his vision.
César’s poetic approach with the placement of objects creates welcoming environments that exude elegance and elevate the human spirit. The process of designing a space is a deeply personal experience for César, and he has built a solid reputation for being able to transform interiors into luxurious spaces that reflect his clients’ unique personalities and lifestyles. A completed space should not only represent visual beauty—it must reflect the essence of a client.
César is also a talented furniture and product designer. His outdoor furniture design collaboration with Tidelli entitled Medellín after his hometown was recently launched. His rug collaboration with Mehraban, Straight Lines Unexpected Curves, was launched in May 2022.
In 2022 the Los Angeles Times named César one of the Top 25 designers in Los Angeles, as well as a favorite designer by the CA Home + Design Awards for 2019. He has been featured in Architectural Digest, California Home + Design, California Homes, Casa, Casa Vogue, Forbes Global Properties, and Luxury Home Magazine, to name a few.
