WAYS TO BE HAPPIER

TODAY

True fulfillment seems like a lofty— and perhaps unachievable—goal, but reaching it can be as simple as making every day a little bit happier. One small step, one day at a time is all you need. For each of the next 31 days, I encourage you to weave one of these action steps into your day. The suggestions may seem small but they are powerful. Even if you boost your happiness by only one percent each day, that joy will grow exponentially over time. Very quickly, you’ll see how the smallest, simplest actions can truly change your life. I believe in you and want to drive you to appreciate and explore your infinite

potential. It’s time to move forward, take action and discover how to be happy today—not tomorrow or next year, but today. At the conclusion of the 31 days, take some time to reflect on how your life has changed. Which actions had the greatest impact on your happiness? Which ones will you continue to integrate into your life moving forward? Commit to happiness one day at a time—and those happy days will become happy weeks, months, years, and ultimately, your happy life.

ONE SMALL STEP, ONE DAY AT A TIME IS ALL YOU NEED.

FF Spend time in nature. Drink in the beauty of the earth, the sights and sounds that surround you. FF Send a handwritten note. Show your appreciation, send your well wishes, or simply say hello. FF Take a nap. Rest is good for the body, mind and soul. FF Go on a hike, run, walk, or do some form of exercise. Get moving. Make your heart beat a little faster, a little harder. FF Smile. Even if you don’t feel like smiling, the physical act can generate happy feelings. FF Reach out to a friend you haven’t spoken with in a while. A phone chat or a coffee date will give you a chance to reconnect. FF Envision for five minutes. Picture exactly what you want to happen. FF Give a hug. Hold on for at least five full seconds. FF Write down five things you are grateful for. Start a gratitude journal or just scribble on the back of your to-do list.

ACCEPT COMPLIMENTS GRACIOUSLY
