We have a unique opportunity to honor the tremendous past and legacy of Thunderbird while setting our sights to the future. Our vision is to build a global village in the heart of Phoenix where we will show the world how to be truly global citizens, building the next generation of leaders for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The new global headquarters will be the home of abstract ideas, innovation and ethical leadership spearheading a better future for the world. We are preparing leaders in business, government and civil society who will make a difference in our lives, and the lives of our children and grandchildren.

We plan to open our global headquarters in April 2021 when Thunderbird turns 75 in partnership with Arizona State University. Together we will ensure a future defined by inclusiveness and sustainable prosperity where all thrive and shape the future of the world.

The trajectory of the planet since the end of WWII necessitates the need to do everything we possibly can to ensure the continued evolution of the global economy, the continued evolution of human betterment, the continued movement of more people out of poverty and the continued advancement of the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals.

Advancing these ideals is the only way to ensure that the Thunderbird School of Global Management is not only what it has been in the past but is better, bigger, stronger and more impactful than before. It is about what Thunderbird is going to do as the leading institution for producing and generating future leaders for the kind of world we all want to be a part of.

Thunderbird is a global network of future-ready leaders, managers, entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs across the private and public sectors who advance inclusive and sustainable prosperity worldwide.

In 2014, Thunderbird became a unit of the Arizona State University Knowledge Enterprise, combining Thunderbird’s multi-decade heritage of developing global business leaders with ASU’s expansive array of opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students. In 2018, Thunderbird moved to downtown Phoenix enhancing its mission by placing the School into the professional hub at the center of the United States’ fifth largest city, the capital of a state vigorously engaged in securing international trade and business opportunities as well as non-profit organizational activity. Thunderbird in downtown Phoenix will continue its trajectory as the world’s premier leadership and management school alongside ASU’s other top-rated graduate professional schools of journalism, law, public service and healthcare. The downtown student population is now over 13,000, which creates a robust and diverse platform for student engagement. Elevating the academic experience Thunderbird is preparing the next generation of leadership for today’s interconnected, global marketplace. Thunderbird’s world-renowned faculty have extensive hands-on experience in global management, and they are passionate about sharing their personal insights, proven solutions and global networks. The portfolio of world class initiatives include: the Global Family Business and Entrepreneurship Center; Global Challenge Labs and diverse global internships; and Thunderbird for Good, home of DreamBuilder and DreamCatcher. In addition to the dedicated faculty, the network of global alumni add meaningful layers to the student offerings including Thunderbird Pitch Day, mock interviews, networking and mentoring.

Thunderbird’s global headquarters is a multimillion-dollar investment into the future of global leadership and management education. This could not be possible without the endorsement and investment by the City of Phoenix, the Arizona Board of Regents, Valley leadership and ASU. The new facility incorporates inclusive and technologyfocused mission of the school throughout.

The democratization of the building has at its core a convening space for all to experience the potential we hold in making a difference in the world. The downtown campus includes several of ASU’s top-ranked graduate professional schools and colleges: journalism, law, nursing, education and public service. Thunderbird is the global bridge for the community.

The centerpiece of the first floor is the Global Forum; a gathering place for events where speakers will offer guests, students and alumni an array of experiences from worldrenowned thought leaders.

Each floor will celebrate our global heritage with regional lounges and interactive kiosks to showcase Thunderbird’s journey over its storied 75-year history.

The rooftop features the Thunderbird Pub evoking the ethos of 1946 and the founding of Thunderbird. The Pub’s design will capture the spirit of the original Pub while embracing the growing skyline of Downtown Phoenix.

Innovation at its finest Our Innovation Center will serve as a hub of experiential activity for our students, including virtual reality suites to prepare students for their fieldwork. This center will also host immersive language technologies, the leading edge in language acquisition.
