The Road To Literati

How It All Began
From a young age, Megan was interested in books. The very best escape and a passport to another world. People, her Grandpa mostly, would often tell her she ought to be a writer.
So when it came time for college, she went to be a writer.
Everyday on her walk to class, she passed the Art building and peered inside, curious. “I’m not an artist,” she’d say to herself. “I’m a writer.”
After she graduated, she got a job working as an arts editor at a newspaper in Washington, DC.
She’d pass by the Art Department sometimes and pause a little too long watching them work before heading back down to the bullpen in the newsroom.

The Journey is the Destination
Over time, she found her way into those Art Departments.
She taught herself to design and worked hard on mastering her craft. Being able to use her past as a writer to put words into her designs opened unlimited possibilities for creating.
She thought of how art and language combined to bring every message and movement into the world, to connect with the people they were designed to reach. This inspired her.
She got to work for clients big and small, on all kinds of projects, but all the best moments had one thing in common:
Working for a purpose side-by-side with a team she loved was the journey and the destination.

Teams Make Dreams
Along the journey, there were plenty of hard times.
Times of never-ending work, late nights, tight deadlines, or tough clients. But she found that when she was doing what she loved for a cause that mattered with people who cared, it never felt like work. It felt like an adventure, a mountain to climb, and summiting together as a team was the greatest reward.
One summer, she decided to take some time to rest, pause, and reflect on the best path forward before setting out again. She knew it would be big!
In a short time, she found herself full of vision for what the future could hold. She started to imagine her next stop, team, and mission. And that’s when she got the call...

Hello, it’s Literati!
Lyndsey

Megan first met Lyndsey, who shared the heart of the team and the legacy of their current Creative Director, and the importance of building upon and preserving it.
On her next stop, she met Par. He painted a picture of partnership and collaboration, how art and science can work together and amplify each other’s strengths.

Finally, she met JD. They talked about the future—how to overcome challenges on the road ahead and use the tools of the future to optimize and enhance creativity. Par

Looking to the Future
The next destination on the adventure was to meet Jess, the one who started it all. It’d always been a dream of Megan’s to work with and learn from a female founder innovating to make the world a better place. There’s always more to learn, experience, and create!

About the Author
Megan’s love of stories began when she was selected in the 2nd grade to read her story The Runaway Markers in front of a packed theater.
The hairstyle was tragic, but everything else was...fine, probably.
It continued on into her college days when she was fortunate to take a Writers’ Workshop class led by the legendary Kurt Vonnegut at the University of Iowa. She’s still amused by his opening line: “You’ll have to excuse me. I’m a carpet-bagging fart machine today.” Maybe you had to be there?
Nowadays, she helps tell others’ stories—brands with heart, founders with dreams, and creatives finding their voice and sharpening their craft.
