FantasTea

Catalog Design | Photography | Illustration FantasTea is the brand that I created for this catalog design project. I wanted to design a project that not only encompassed tea but also had a nerdy twist to it. I originally created the concept of FantasTea as a blog about tea and literature book pairings but then decided to extend the concept to a catalog. The idea behind the catalog is that the different types of tea pair with a fantasy media. The fantasy media is not limited to movies and books but also podcasts that incorporate fantasy within them.

SoundWaves

Concert Promotion | Print Design For this project, I was part of a graphic design team that collaborated with the JWU Concert and Event Production class to produce the promotional materials for a concert held at Johnson & Wales University. I was tasked with creating the Instagram ads, Facebook ads, flyers, handbills and large scale posters for the event. The students from the class, who were our clients, gave us the direction of retro classic for the theme. The design team then created the color scheme, style scape, and brand inspired from the research we did in that genre of music. It was a challenge to work with a group of 30+ students as our clients, however it was great experience and the class was extremely satisfied with the results.

Actually, I Can

Campaign | Print Design | Illustration The mission for the “Actually, I Can campaign is to help the younger generations understand what feminism is and provide an outlet for discussion and expression of their opinions. This original idea and concept was derived from the fact that in high school and even college, students don’t have an outlet to express, explore, and discuss this topic. When designing this brand, my focus was on strong typographical elements. The icon represents two fists in stereotypical gender colors to signify unified strength between all genders.

Les fleurs

Photography | Digital Design | Art Direction This series of photographs was inspired by a storyboard I created as a personal project to illustrate a mythical fairy-like series featuring flowers. I commissioned a few of my friends to choose their favorite flower. I then researched the meanings of the flowers they chose. Then, we set up a photo shoot where I stylized their makeup, clothing, and flower decor to fit the theme. Each photograph expressed the flower chosen by the model and the meaning was brought into every photo shoot through the location, posing, facial expression, composition, and art direction. This series is an on going project. Flowers are an inspiration in my work and I want to share the feeling of nature’s beauty through my photography.

Prismatic

Wayfinding App Design | Digital Design | Illustration | Photography This wayfinding project was something I struggled with because I wanted to create something very different and modern. I then came up with the idea to create Prismatic, a wayfinding app that photographers can use to find shoot locations on the go. The App is meant to download to your phone. It brings together casual, hobbyist, and professional photographers alike by helping them find and add photo shoot locations. This app can also help to expand photographers portfolios and skills by providing inspiration through location. Photographers can select their region, the type of location and find places to shoot like Cityscape, Abandon, Architecture, Landscape, Nature, Water, and Wildlife. Prismatic is also interactive and users can create their own profile and make their own posts.

HP LoveCraft Window Display Window Design | Photography | Illustration

For this project, as a class assignment, we were tasked with creating a six window display that would fit in an abandoned storefront in Providence. I wanted to change up my style and create something a little more dark and twisty. I choose to create an HP Lovecraft themed display that showed his characters and themes taking over Providence landmarks. All of the illustrations and photographs are original. I edited the photos to have them feel as if they are darker then they appear to create an eerie feel.

MassArt College Acceptance Box

Branding Standards | Digital Design | Packaging Design For this project, we were asked to pick a college and using their brand standards, create an acceptance box for incoming freshman that included several deliverables. The college I chose was MassArt. In their standards, MassArt included the colors, typography, and the brand feel that I applied for the creative direction to create the box. I applied the different shapes from MassArt’s branding and created a visual flow throughout each deliverable. I then prototyped the physical piece and branded the sketch book, acceptance letter, and brochure.

The Haunting

Photography | Digital Design | Art Direction For this photo shoot,I was commissioned to photograph the client wearing a costume that she made. She wanted to portray a haunted theme. I chose to shoot at the Fog x FLO exhibit in Boston. This location with the fog that was running allowed me to capture the feel to bring this haunted character to life. For the editing I used the colors the client had in her costume to balance out the dark overlays and create contrast. For these photos I stylized the shots, did all the photo editing and art direction.

BathMetric

Subscription Box Design| Digital Design |Web Design The concept of Bathmetric’s subscription box is to help set the mood for your bath experience. Each box brings a different mood and atmosphere to bath. There are three moods that the subscriber can choose from. The boxes are Romance, Fantasy, and Peace and they include a variety of bath products like bath bombs, bath salts, essential oils, and a candle. Most other bath subscription boxes include these items but no other bath subscription box creates an atmosphere that brings you into another world. The colors chosen for each box reflects the named it is paired with.

Taste of the Mediterranean

Restaurant Pop-Up | Print Design |Photography This project was a collaboration between the Johnson & Wales Graphic Design student design team and the Johnson & Wales Culinary student chef team. The design team was asked to conceptualize and create branding for a restaurant pop-up. Using the chef team’s idea of the concept Mediterranean and Ocean our team designed several different deliverables including table tents, tickets, flyer, comment cards, and Instagram ads. I used my knowledge of design to create a concept along with my design team. Laser engraving and building the station menus for this project was one of the highlights.

Converse Cactus Collection

Sneaker Design| Package Design | Digital Illustration For this project, I was tasked to create an original shoe concept and design for an existing brand. I choose to create a collection for Converse called “Cactus Collection”. For the design, I drew the illustrations for each different type of cactus. The three cacti I chose were Bunny Ears, San Pedro, and Saguaro. I really wanted to use earth tones mixed with the colors the cacti in their natural state. In this design the Converse logo was adapted to fit the “Cactus Collection” theme. For the box design, I laser engraved the logo on the lid.

Student Exhibit Posters

Exhibit Promo| Print Design | Poster Design For this project, I was chosen to create a poster series for the Design & Engineering Conference Student Exhibit for Johnson & Wales University’s Design program that was being displayed during 2019-2020. I wanted to create a series that was both modern and futuristic intertwined together. This poster was displayed in the hallways of the John J. Bowen Center for Science & Innovation where the Design gallery is loacted and throughout the univeristy for promotion of the exhibit. I neede to incorporate the Johnson & Wales University design standards. Trying to balance the modern and futuristic themes was a challenge but I was able to achieve that through the font pairings and color choices.

The Garden Playhouse

Character Design | Package Design | Digital Illustration The challenge for this project was to create a gender neutral playhouse with characters for ages 5 and up. I really wanted to create something that was illustrative and whimsical. Therefore, I chose to combine different types of flowers with different types of bugs. The characters I created are Sonny the Sunflower Dragonfly, Penelope the Peony Butterfly, and Fiona the Forget-MeNot Ladybug. I was able to achieve my goal with the use of bright colors and a sketchy look for my character illustrations and box design.
