UMAMI FOOD DELIVERY APP 1

Umami is an Asian Food delivery and pick-up app. The purpose of this app is to allow users to experience delicious Asian cuisines. There are 2 flows indicated in the app which allows users to switch between Asian restaurants or grocery stores. What is unique about Umami, is the ability to curate custom Asian recipes that allow users the ability to purchase those items from the nearest grocery store and have it delivered to their homes or pick it up. The target audience are users who want to explore Asian food or Asian users who are already familiar with Asian food and want to explore Asian restaurants and groceries near them.

Wanderbug is a social hiking app that brings users together for a fun experience of hiking and partaking in outdoor activities with their friends and families.The purpose of Wanderbug is having a social space for hikers and adventurers. The app allows users to explore new trails and outdoor activities, keep up and communicate with their friends. The map screen allows users to track one another and share trails. Wanderbug also features a fitness tracker for all friends. The target audience are users who have a fit and active lifestyle.

DOJA CAT WEB RE-DESIGN 3

Doja Cat is an iconic pop and rap artist, and her latest album is “Planet Her”. The problem is that she has 2 websites; one with her tour dates, music, videos, and promos and a separate site for her merchandise which makes it difficult for users to find what they want. The main website is unorganized and difficult to navigate. The re-designed version is a one stop site for everything pertaining to Doja Cat such as her tour dates, promo, music, videos, and shop. The new site is easy to navigate, and is also branded according to the artist and the promotion of her latest album, “Planet Her”.

BASELINE MAGAZINE 4

Baseline magazine is an international typographic magazine. The project is based on the historical topic of Baroque style Art & Design and requires font usage of, Caslon. While researching Caslon, I traced its origins back to the Baroque Art Era. The text contents and the inspiration is from the article, “Art History Influence on Modern Design: Baroque Style” which entails the Baroque influence on modern high-fashion, textile industry, architecture, music and graphic design. The publication design is a modern take on baroque art and contains the typographic application of Caslon.

Type Exhibition 2021 5

The Fine Arts department at the University of Texas at Arlington Hosted the annual Typography Exhibition 2021, “Creative of Expression of Type” The exhibition calls artists to create an eyecatching poster design that contains expressive typography and incorporate given information into the poster as well designing an invitation and 2 other branded items to promote the exhibition. The inspiration came from henna design which is a body art that I formerly practiced years ago. I decided to bring this design style back and explore a new application of this design. This design was featured in the “Creative Expressions of Type” as well “BFA Senior Exhibition 2022.

IThe scope of the project was to explore creative concepts and create Illustrated fonts based on research. The concept I chose was Rick and Morty and specifically the world of Alphabetrium, a reality where all the characters would be an Alphabet. There were only 2 characters that are native to the Alphabetrium. I pushed this concept further by illustrating each letter based on a character from the show. This design was featured in the “Creative Expressions of Type” Exhibition in 2021.

MILK+HONEY LOGO

Milk + Honey is a modern Austin based spa. This is a high-end spa and it has a modern and sophisticated vibe. I used techniques of iconographic design to create this logo. After several concept iterations I honed in on 2 concepts of combining, honeybee and geometry. I chose the bee because it pertains to honey and I incorporated geometry as the style of the bee because of the modern appearance of the spa’s exterior and interior design. This resulted in a bee with a very geometric shaped body. The colors were sampled from the images of the spa itself.

SPRINKLES BUSINESS PLANNER 8

Sprinkles Cupcakes is a franchise that sells baked goods and is most known for their cupcakes and iconic polkadots. The annual business planner is branded based on the company’s existing brand. The information consists of a timeline of the company’s history and progress, and the years financial highlights, mission statement, new products and letter from the CEO. The target audiencee of this publication are employees, inversors and shareholders. The color schemes and patterns are used consistently throughout the publication.

BARCLAY UNIVERSITY

Barclay University is a private Art & Science research based university. Barclay is best known for its Architecture and Visual Design programs. The chose the motto as “Lux Manor Scientia’’ which translates as, “Knowledge is the light of the mind” The University’s mascot is Hippocampus; a Greek mythological creature which represents creativity and knowledge. I chose the brand’s archetype as the Creator since the brand promotes true innovativeness and expression. I was inspired by the golden rectangle as well as simple design concepts such as line & shape for the main logo and pattern. I created an alternate logo of the mascot, Hippocampus for the Athletics logo.

Manny G’s is a military dive bar located in Keller, TX. The brand’s tagline is “Cold drinks and Warm Friends” and the logo is a fun play on martini and darts. The members of this bar enjoy drinking, playing darts, and smoking cigars. I designed icons and the logos based on this information. I chose the brand archetype as Rebel because the brand identifies as an outsider pulling away from conventional society. I chose these colors because they are fitting to the American theme.
