THE ROYAL CRESCENT’S SPA & BATH HOUSE

Spa manager Anette Hall thinks the party season calls for a glowing, nourished complexion – achieved through a facial – perfect nails, soothing reflexology and a deep massage to ease the back and shoulders after present-shopping; the Spa & Bath House offers all this and more. Anette recommends: An Elemental Herbology Radiance and Vitality Skin Brightening facial. “It’s the perfect way to enhance the tone and texture of your skin, providing the ideal base for your party makeup,”

An up-do in the making at Melanie Giles’s hair salon

BATH LIFE’S LISA EVANS REVIEWS TWO OF THE SALON’S PARTY TREATMENTS You may call me neglectful, but I’ve never had a proper in-salon pedicure before. I’ve had my toenails painted, yes, but never had the full works until I popped into LittleLab for a deluxe pedicure – a soak, scrub, buff and massage, ending in a rose gold gel varnish. With a bit of luck, the UV-cured polish they painted my toenails with will last until Christmas, but part of me hopes it chips so that I can go back and experience the luxurious pampering session all over again, all while being served cups of herbal tea, hugging a hot water bottle and listening to soothing music. While I’m at the modern salon, the business’s founder, Katherine Spreadbury, treats me to a tailored oneto-one airbrush makeup workshop (this can be done for a group of up to 16 people) too. Katherine and I remove all of our makeup and I copy her as she takes me through the airbrushing process – fine mists of foundation and blush that last up to 12 hours – which is perfect for Christmas parties. It’s daunting at first to hold the airbrush gun and do everything myself, but the course is a fun way

The beauty and hair salon have made it their duty to offer their busy clients quick-fix beauty treatments such as their new Sienna X spray tan which develops in an hour. Another new addition is their 12 days of Christmas event, giving every customer the chance to win luxury prizes. They recommend: *A Caci facial, for dewy skin *Ionithermie slimming – a treatment that can see you lose up to eight inches in one sitting *A Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Hair Conditioning Treatment which was developed for Audrey Hepburn in 1974 4-5 Monmouth Street, Bath; www.frontlinestyle.co.uk

ZARA PERRY HAIRDRESSING

At the salon, which has just celebrated its oneyear anniversary, beauty treatments include facials, microblading and airbrush makeup. For £10 you can indulge in a Shellec manicure, a spray tan, or hairstyling of your choice. You can also gain exclusive use of the salon for private parties for up to six people. They recommend: *Wash your hair the night before the party as hair-up styles always work better the day after *Have just your parting coloured if it’s too early for your next appointment *Indulge in a microdermabrasion facial for photoready skin 30 Lombard House, St. James Parade, Bath; www.zphairdressing.co.uk w

to rediscover makeup, taught by a professional in a relaxed environment. I took home so much helpful advice, too, (like not to use water on my skin, but to simply cleanse, then tone without rinsing). For the party season, Katherine has introduced a Taittinger champagne beauty bar which offers makeup workshops, gel manicures, pedicures and flawless airbrush makeup application while you sip fizz. So raise a glass for the festive period at LittleLab. 20 Broad Street, Bath; www.littlelab.co.uk
