GOOD JUDGE OF CHARACTERS The all-important line-up of judges for the 2017 Bath Life Awards has been revealed. And nominations and Tea Room Tickets are now available as momentum builds with four months to go until the uberglam night in February. Each year, a panel of impeccably independent judges assess the nominations and meet to discuss and examine in detail the possible winners. This year’s line-up looks particularly strong and eclectic: Adam Dennes (CaSA Architects), Alex Miller (Sub 13), Chris Prescott (Highgrove Enterprises), Dan Moon (The Gainsborough Bath Spa), Jennifer Scott (The Holburne Museum), Kate Smith (The Makery), Nick Oliver (Pearson May), Simon Holdsworth (Thrings) and Tim Moss (Moss of Bath). “We’re really pleased to welcome our new judges to the Bath Life Awards,” says Steph Dodd, event manager at MediaClash, who

Entries can be made in more than one category and cover the year of 2016. “Every year, we are absolutely delighted with the number of nominations as Bath companies and organisations vie to win a Bath Life Award. As the perception and awareness continue to rise, we hope to top last year’s record level of nominations” adds Steph. A strictly limited number of Tea Room Tickets are also now available, covering individual tickets and Associate Tables. A few category and feature sponsorships are also still available. The Bath Life Awards are on 23 February at Bath Assembly Rooms. A Bath-based giftware manufacturing company is about to have the honour of appearing on Kirstie Allsop’s Channel 4 TV show, Handmade Christmas. Timothy Richards, master craftsman and founder of the Modern Souvenir Co, explains, “Kirstie visited the workshop for inspiration for her programme, and was fascinated to learn, and try for herself, the process of creating beautiful, plaster Christmas decorations, from sculpting the original, through to pouring the mould in which the decoration is made.” The brand have also revealed the first highly-detailed, plaster miniature model of Bath’s iconic Royal Crescent together with 12 collections of architectural models, sculptural pieces and portrait busts, including Jane Austen. Tim says, “We presented the first production model to the mayor on 23 November, and have pledged £1 from every sale as a donation to the Mayor’s Relief Fund, helping Bath residents who are in need, hardship or distress.” For more: www.modernsouvenir.com
