OUT & ABOUT Discover what’s been going on in the Hilton Head area.
The Lantern Eve Safari Drive Thru (ABOVE) kicked off Friday, November 12, at Mitchelville Freedom Park. Pockets Full of Sunshine had a tent with David Carroll performing. Cars lined up to go through. Then on Saturday, November 13, the 2021 HH Lantern Parade (RIGHT) took place at Alder Lane in the beach and ended at Coligny Beach Park.
The HH Oyster Festival was held at the Celebration Park Saturday, November 13. Great weather, food, bands and booths! This large mosaic collage (RIGHT) is a masterpiece of trash. Designed and created by Pam White along with a team of volunteers, the 5 foot, resin-coated piece is made from garbage collected on the beaches of Hilton Head. The piece recently won Best Group Entry in the Port Royal Sound Foundation’s Recycled Art Contest 2021. All of the art in the contest (there were 40 entries this year) will be on display at the Maritime Center through the end of the year. This piece was auctioned in November with all of the proceeds going to the Turtle Trackers of Hilton Head. 20
