MONTGOMERY,DonnaVest “Meme,” 59, of Mechanicsville, born December 25, 1953, went to be with the angels November 3, 2013. She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Vest. She leaves behind to cherish her memory a loving husband, Norman Montgomery; mother, Evelyn “Nellie” Vest; son, Wayne Atkinson (Stacey); grandchildren, Steven, Brandon and Ashleigh Atkinson; brother, Ron Vest; uncle, Thomas R. Vest (Rae); aunt, Emily Toney; niece, Melanie Kenney; and numerous cousins and friends. Donna was a great-grandmother-to-be. She was an avid NASCAR and drag racing fan, was a commentator on Metro Motor Sports Show with Paul Rakes, and did articles in the Metro Auto Sport paper. She was an avid Dachshund lover and owner. The family received friends on Nov. 7 at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd., where funeral services were held on Nov. 8. Interment was in Signal Hill Memorial Park.

HEGAMYER, William Langbourne, 71, of Montpelier, passed away Monday, November 4, 2013. He was the son of Kahlstrom R. and Evelyn C. Hegamyer (both deceased). He is survived by his sister, Christine Hegamyer Powell; children, Robbie, Gary and Melanie Hegamyer; as well as four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. suddenly on Thursday, October 31, 2013. Bruce was born April 13, 1955. He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick Ogden. He leaves behind Darlene S. Ogden, the love of his life and wife of 22 years; daughter, Julia Ayscue and her husband, Marc, of Richmond; son, Frederick Ogden and his fiancé, Jordan Dean, of Raleigh, N.C.; stepson, Brandon Sullivan of Mechanicsville; mother, Jane Ogden of Richmond; brother, Clay Ogden and his wife, Susan, of Steamboat Springs, Colo.; grandson, Palmer Nash Ayscue; nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends. Bruce was a graduate of Virginia Episcopal School and attended Hampden Sydney College. He began his lifelong career in the graphic arts industry and was the business unit manager for Southern Graphic Systems. Bruce will be remembered as a loving husband, proud father, adoring grandfather, and a consummate champion of his family and friends. Bruce could fill a room with his sense of humor and witty repartee and will be deeply missed by all those who knew him. A memorial service was held on Nov. 8 at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 6000 Grove Ave., Richmond, Va. 23226.
