While discussions regarding the pending Conditional Use Permit request to construct a multi-plex movie theater in Mechanicsville have centered on supporters and opponents of the project, the ultimate decision rests with Hanover County’s elected

Board of Supervisors. Canova Peterson, chairman of the Board of Supervisors and representative of the Mechanicsville District where construction of the theater is proposed, isn’t showing his hand or offering any hints on how he’ll vote when the issue finally reaches that point, but he acknowledges there are strong emotions on both sides of
