North Texas head coach Todd Dodge is quietly assembling a talent pool that will return Mean Green Football to a position of prominence. In two years at the helm, Dodge has tried to establish a foundation that would lead to victory. The baseline of success on the field has been set and now Dodge believes he has the pieces in place to show that his work has not been futile. The class of true freshmen in 2008 was rated in the top seven nationally among non-BCS teams by ESPN. This young and talented group built upon the impressive offensive transformation that took place in 2007, and will continue to do so in the 2009 season. Coach Dodge has assembled a team of players and coaches that he believes can thrive in his system, as the offense continues to improve and the defense looks to match that level of improvement. It has been a two-year process of molding young men and tweaking a staff that will serve as the groundwork for developing the football program at North Texas.. Season tickets and a donation to the Mean Green Club provide you priority seating, parking, and hospitality privileges. By joining the Mean Green Club and purchasing season tickets you’re not only close to the action in the stadium, but you’re close to all the pre-game tailgating festivities that take place on Game Day @ North Texas. North Texas Letterwinners, parents of incoming students, and university faculty & staff can reserve seats for as little as $70, and the Family Fun Pack including 4 tickets, food and drink for all six home games is just $250. August 1 – MEAN GREEN KICKOFF COOKOUT / 5k TOUCHDOWN RUN & 1mi. FUN RUN The inaugural North Texas Athletics Touchdown 5k Run and 1-mile Family Fun Run will take place at the Mean Green Village. This location is the future site of the new North Texas Football Stadium. Date will be Saturday, August 1st at 9 am. The Race will be held at the North Texas Athletic Center at the Mean Green Village on 1301 South Bonnie Brae in Denton. Starting at 9 a.m. on Sat., Aug. 1, the Touchdown 5K run combines paved surface and grass. The course begins at Victory Hall next to the North Texas Athletic Center on Bonnie Brae and ends near the site of the future football stadium. A family fun run at 10 a.m. will follow the 5K race. Awards Ceremony at 10:30 am. Race participants are invited to stay for the Mean Green Kickoff Cookout, which begins at 11 a.m. Come join North Texas coaches, student athletes, cheerleaders, dancers and Scrappy in an afternoon of food and fun! Food will be served for $10 a person and kids 12 & under eat FREE! There will also be live entertainment, North Texas Athletics Director Rick Villarreal will speak and fans can pick up their 2009 season tickets, Mean Green Club gifts, and more!

The centerpiece of North Texas Athletics and the Mean Green Athletic Village is the 46,000-square foot Athletics Center, which houses administrative and football coaches’ offices, a football locker room, team meeting rooms, strength and conditioning facilities, and sports medicine facilities. The new Mean Green Village Women’s Athletic Complex was thoroughly renovated and opened in the fall of 2005. The women’s athletic complex includes new coaches’ offices, locker rooms, meeting rooms, training rooms, and competition facilities for golf, soccer, softball, and volleyball. The village also contains the new Waranch Tennis Complex, a 12-court facility complete with coaches’ offices, locker rooms and pro shop. Rounding out the facilities comprising the Mean Green Village is the new student-athlete academic center, designed to maintain the priority of academic excellence among Mean Green student-athletes. The MEAN GREEN Priority Point System has been put in place to facilitate the seating of our loyal Mean Green supporters. The system establishes minimum point requirements to guarantee qualified account holders the opportunity to purchase priority season tickets, away game tickets, and post season tickets. The point system will be utilized to prioritize season ticket relocation/seating requests, and to determine seating location for away and post season games. The MEAN GREEN Priority Point System is calculated on the following criteria: Continuous years as a season ticket holder, Athletic Donations, and Dues Paying Letterwinners.
TICKET POlICy – SECTION “E”
Minimum Donation - All season ticket purchases in section E must be accompanied by a minimum $500 donation to the Mean Green Club. If you are currently in Section E and do not wish to meet the minimum donation, your season tickets will be relocated to a seating block that is as comparable to your current season tickets as availability will allow. Additional Seats - Any renewing season ticket holder who wishes to purchase additional seats above their current Priority Ticket Allowance in section E will need to meet the minimum donation level for the 2009 season as outlined below. The Green and Blue lots are reserved for Mean Green Club members. The Green lot is reserved for Mean Green Club members at the $500 level or higher. The Blue lot is reserved for Mean Green Club members at the $250 level or higher. Mean Green Club members who purchase season tickets, will be able to select their parking preference in either the Green (between stadium and I-35) or Blue lot (adjacent to The Ticket Office and North Texas Blvd). The opportunity to purchase additional parking passes is available through the Mean Green Club office. HOME GAME TICKETS Single game tickets for the 2009 football home games went on sale to account holders who have accrued MEAN GREEN priority points and current students on June 17th.. Single game home tickets for all other groups will be available starting August 5th.. Single-game home tickets can be purchased on a walk-up basis at the North Texas Athletic Ticket Office, by phone, or through . ARMy GAME A very limited number of single-game tickets will be available for this game due to high ticket demand and the contractual ticket demands of our opponent. Priority for these tickets will be determined via the MEAN GREEN Priority Point System. SINGlE-GAME TICKETS FOR AlABAMA Alabama tickets will be available for order to our Mean Green Priority account holders based on their Priority Point Standing. IF quantItIes alloW: *All other groups may place orders starting on Wednesday, August 5th. These groups will be required to make a $20 per ticket donation to the Mean Green Club, and will be allowed to purchase a maximum of 4 tickets. The acceptance of an order does not guarantee its fulfillment. Orders will be filled based on availability by the date the order was received. Any orders which precede these time frames will not be considered and will be discarded. AWAy GAME TICKETS Ticket orders for away games, if quantities allow, are filled subject to availability and assigned based upon our MEAN GREEN Priority Point System. Away game tickets went on sale to account holders who have accrued MEAN GREEN priority points June 17th. Ticket information will be mailed to all Mean Green Priority account holders detailing their purchasing options for away games. Current UNT students will also have the opportunity to purchase tickets to all of our away games. UNT student purchases are on a first come, first serve basis and will be sold until the student allotment is exhausted beginning on June 17th. All student purchases must be made in person through the Athletic Ticket Office. Away game tickets for non-Mean Green Priority account holders, if available, will go on sale on August 5th.

ticket Information GROUP SEATING
Individuals desiring group seating should turn their orders in together and specify which tickets they would like to group together (season, single-game). Season ticket holders who wish to group renewal orders that are not currently seated together should expect to sacrifice location. The same is true for a renewing season ticket holder who wishes to sit with a new season ticket buyer. For both season and single-game ticket buyers, the entire group will be seated based on the priority of the group member with the lowest priority. Please see page 6 of this publication for additional information on the Mean Green Priority Point System.
TICKETS FOR INFANTS/CHIlDREN
Everyone, regardless of age, must have a ticket to attend our home football contests, except infants in arms. Infants in arms will be admitted free of charge; it is understood that they must sit in their parent’s or guardian’s lap and will not occupy a seat. Parents are responsible for the conduct of their children. Minimum age requirements for tickets to away games are established by the host school.

Accessible seating is available at Gates 1, 3, 7 and 8. Accessible seating is located in Lower section M, Upper section G and Lower section F. Accessible seating should be specifically requested before the purchase of tickets. Only one attendant will be permitted seating with each fan that requires accessible seating.

North Texas Athletics cannot be responsible for lost, stolen, or destroyed tickets. Duplicate tickets will only be issued to account holders and will result in a reprinting fee.

All ticket orders will be mailed to the account holder’s address, unless specified otherwise by the account holder. Tickets that are purchased the week of the contest will be held at Will Call for pick up.

Ticket orders for individual games that are received the week of the game will not be mailed and will be placed in Will Call at the Athletic Ticket Office. Will Call tickets for home football contests can be claimed during normal office hours or on game day at the Athletic Ticket Office beginning at 10:00 a.m. Will Call tickets for road games will be held in the Athletic Ticket Office until the Thursday afternoon of game week. Ball State Will Call will be in the Athletic Ticket Office until the Tuesday afternoon before the contest. After that time, road game Will Call will be available for pick up at the visiting team’s stadium on game day. For road game Will Call information, please contact the Athletic Ticket Office. Only the person whose name appears on the order may pick up will-call tickets. A picture ID is required. Refunds will not be made for will-call tickets that are not picked up.
PAyMENT
The North Texas Ticket Office will assess a $5 processing fee per ticket to all season ticket orders and a $5 transaction fee (per $50 purchased) for all single game credit card sales. All checks should be made payable to North Texas Athletics. American Express, MasterCard, Visa, and Discover are also accepted for ticket purchases; please include your card number and expiration date if paying by credit card. University faculty and staff members can can enroll in payroll deduction for season ticket purchases and MGC donations. Cash is accepted only on a walk-in basis at the Ticket Office. Payment must accompany all ticket order(s). Acceptance of payment does not guarantee your order will be filled.

Tailgating festivities at Mean Green Village and the surrounding area start early and are highlighted by the Mean Green March featuring North Texas Cheerleaders, North Texas Dancers, Green Brigade Marching Band and the Mean Green Football Team. Live musical entertainment, Junior Mean Green Fun Zone and plenty of Mean Green spirit are the norm for tailgating on Game Day @ North Texas. The athletic department reserves the right to remove any paraphernalia that is deemed inappropriate. Listed below are some tips to enhance your tailgating experience. ARRIVE EARly… Tailgating is what you make of it. To enjoy a full day of tailgating activities in Mean Green Village and the surrounding area it is best to be on hand early and avoid possible traffic delays. HAVE A GAME PlAN... There is no substitute for proper preparation. Bring your grills, smokers, food, beverages and whatever else you may need. Setup your tailgate party in any approved location or stay close to Mean Green Village where organized tailgating festivities take place. Please no glass containers, kegs, pets or vehicles permitted in Mean Green Village. BRING yOUR TEAM... Just as Coach Dodge brings his team to the game, you need to bring your team to Game Day @ North Texas. Friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, and others that you socialize with will enjoy the festive tailgating atmosphere of the Mean Green Village and the surrounding area. Fans are encouraged to secure tailgating supplies and enter the stadium at least 30 minutes prior to kickoff. SUPPORT THE MEAN GREEN... Make sure to bring out all your North Texas gear. Wear your Mean Green apparel, decorate your vehicle, bring out your mean green flags, tailgate tents, chairs, coolers, etc.

Tailgating activities in Mean Green Village begin three hours prior to kick-off. It is best to arrive early, leaving ample time to tailgate and enter the stadium. Three hours prior to kick-off – Live Musical Entertainment on the practice fields & Junior Mean Green Club Fun Zone opens. Two hours prior to kick-off – Mean Green March - Join the Green Brigade, Cheerleaders, Dancers, Talons, and the North Texas Football team as they march to the locker room for final pregame preparations. 30 minutes prior to kick-off – Green Brigade Pre-Game Extravaganza in Fouts Field.
GENERAl PUBlIC PARKING
Parking Lots adjacent to the stadium have been reserved for Mean Green Club members at the $250 level and above and are restricted by a parking pass which is issued with the purchase of season tickets. Parking for nonMean Green Club Members on Game Day is $10 by availability in a select few lots adjacent to Fouts Field and are identified in specific sections of the Orange and red lots (see map on page 6). Additional parking is available East of North Texas Blvd.
TRAFFIC PATTERN
The North Texas Athletic Department and the UNT Police Department have implemented a traffic pattern designed to minimize delays on Game Day. For more information you can view the designated traffic pattern on line by visiting MeanGreenSports.com and clicking on Game Day @ North Texas.

Mean Green Club members seeking to park recreational vehicles for Game Day should indicate so on page 15 of this publication. Oversize vehicles are not permitted in any of the lots surrounding Fouts Field without authorized permission from the athletic department. All recreational vehicles will be admitted to the blue lot as space permits for $60 on Game Day.

Tradition FRIDAy PRIDE DAy
Friday Pride Day is a campus and community-wide tradition which continues to spread throughout the North Texas community. With the help of a few spirited staff members a campaign to turn the campus green was unveiled. This campaign encourages faculty, staff, students, and other in support of North Texas to sport their Mean Green Gear every Friday.
MEAN GREEN MARCH
The Mean Green March is a parade including the Green Brigade Marching Band, the North Texas Dancers, the North Texas Cheerleaders, and your Mean Green Football Team. The march starts at Traditions Hall and proceeds through Mean Green Village culminating at the football locker room. The Mean Green March takes place two hours before kickoff as the team makes its final pregame preparations.
FRIDAy NIGHT @ ClARK PARK
Friday Night @ Clark Park is the North Texas Pep Rally. Each Friday night before home football games, a North Texas Pep rally featuring live music, North Texas Cheerleaders, Dancers, Marching Band, Football Players and Coaches, takes place in Clark Park (located at the corner of Highland and Avenue C). Live music starts at 7:30 pm with a traditional pep rally finishing up the nights events. Students, Alumni, Fans and Denton residents are all welcome to this Free Event to kick start your North Texas Football weekend.
VICTORy CANNON – “BOOMER” VICTOR
The tradition of firing the cannon began in 1970. The modern cannon is managed by the Talons. Boomer is on hand during tailgating outside Mean Green Village, and is fired prior to the Mean Green March, after touchdowns, field goals, and the team’s entrance.
SPIRIT BE BEll
The Spirit Bell was brought to Denton from Michigan in 1891. It was used to signal class changes and evening curfew. The 2,000-pound bell served as a sound of victory for smallmany years until a crack was found within forcing the bell into retirement. Though small er, the bell’s successor is the first and only self-motorized 1,600-pound bell in the NCAA. The Spirit Bell can also be seen outside the main entrance of Mean Green Village.
MODEl A – “GREEN MACHINE” MODE
The Model A, the Talon car, is a 1931 Ford Model A Tudor Sedan, and can be seen on game day outside of Mean Green Village. It was donated to UNT by an alumnus, Rex game Cauble, in the early 1970’s. The car is entrusted to the care of the Talons. The Model A, also known as the Mean Green Machine, is driven by the Talons Cannon Crew and promotes North Texas spirit.

The Mean Green Club is the fundraising arm of the North Texas athletic department. Charged with organizing Mean Green supporters and raising the needed dollars for athletic scholarships, the Mean Green Club has seen enormous growth in membership over the past seven years. Contributions to the Mean Green Club help support over 350 North Texas student-athletes each year, are tax-deductible, and come with associated benefits and gifts. While there are always many priorities for a Division I athletic department, continued department, continued growth in the Mean Green Club is the NUMBER ONE priority at North Texas! Only current Mean Green Club members are eligible to enjoy the best seats at Fouts Field and the Super Pit. Membership in the club provides the most convenient parking privileges and special gifts associated with each contribution level. Exclusive hospitality areas are also associated with Mean Green Club membership. The Mean Green Club Hospitality Deck is open at all home football games with catered food and beverages available (minimum $250 donation). Likewise, the Mean Green Room at the Super Pit is the pregame meeting and hospitality place during Basketball season (minimum $500 donation for men’s games and $250 donation for women’s games).
Season parking passes are given only to those Mean Green Club Members who purchase season tickets. For those fans wishing to sit in groups, all applications
must be submitted at one time and priority for all seats will be determined by the lowest Mean Green Priority in the group. All ticket and parking assignments are based on the Mean Green Priority Point System. See page 6 for additional info.
Parking benefits (Mean Green Club lots only) begin at the $250 level. Green lot parking begins at the $500 level. VIP parking begins at the $5,000 level (numbered spaces assigned to the donor). Multiple area parking passes are available and allocated depending on donor level. Please see benefits chart below. This area often hosts other North Texas teams providing autograph opportunities to all visitors. The cheerleaders, dancers, and Scrappy are also frequent visitors. All Junior Mean Green Club members participate for free at the Fun Zone.

Birthday party packages must be purchased in advance through the North Texas Athletic Ticket Office at 940-565-2527. The birthday package accommodates 10 individuals (10 tickets) for $200. Additional general admission tickets are available upon request. After purchase, tickets can be picked up in advance or at general will call the day of the game at the ticket office. On gameday’s, the ticket office opens at 10:00am. All members of the party (adults & kids) are required to have a game ticket.

In an ongoing effort to provide role modeling and educational opportunities to the youth of Denton and the surrounding area, the North Texas Athletics Department will continue the Mean Green Community Care Program!
