Director’s Welcome Good evening and welcome to the first Mater Dei Instrumental Music Fall Haunted Eve Concert. With the continued growth in our program, I felt it was it was necessary to feature all of our talents earlier in the school year. As the director of the program, my goal is to challenge all students with life enriching opportunities that not only promote musical growth, but also teaches them the importance of community and coming together as one. It is then when we are not only stronger, but spiritually happier and thankful. This evening, our Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Orchestra will bring you chills and memories with famous Halloween themes from various decades. Our new Guitar Ensembles will rock you of out your seat as they perform songs from some great bands. Thank you! to Mr. Smith, Mr. Parker, Mr. Traska, Mr. Knudsen and Ms. Chung for their devotion to our Guitar, String Orchestra and Percussion programs. They have truly been key in the tremendous improvements in these ensembles these few first months. And Thank You! to all of you for joining us tonight. Your support and dedication are truly appreciated and essential to our program. Please don't mind the spiders and critters underneath your seat and enjoy the Concert. Happy Halloween, Fernando Martinez

Mater Dei High School Music Academy

We, the Mater Dei High School Music Academy, believe in building individual confidence and group collaboration by pursuing excellence from day one. We encourage all students to excel spiritually, and musically through expression and individual creativity.

STUDENTS INVOLVED IN MUSIC:

Pursuing Excellence From Day One!

Stay in engaged in school Earn higher grades Build intellectual curiosity, and creative thinking skills Develop language and reasoning skills Build pride and confidence within themselves Music does more than just make sounds, it changes the way young people think and behave. The skills your child will learn in music will help them be successful on the stage, in the classroom, and for the rest of their lives. “If I were not a physicist, I would probably be a musician. I often think in music. I live my daydreams in music. I see my life in terms of music.” – Albert Einstein

Music academy Band rehearses twice a week (Monday and Thursday) from 6pm -8pm inside the MDHS Band Room.
