Wellness Our students’ mental health is as important as their physical health. It’s not always obvious when a child is struggling emotionally, but recognizing the symptoms and seeking early and effective mental health services are important for long-term health. In response to this important topic, Mater Dei High School has entered into a partnership with Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) and their pediatric psychology department to provide mental health services for students. Beginning this fall, there will be a licensed psychologist employed by CHOC who will be supervising a full-time post- doctorate psychology fellow, also employed by CHOC. The post-doctorate fellow will be on campus full-time to serve the mental health needs of students. If on-going mental health services are needed, outside referrals will be made. Additionally, CHOC will provide program development for our entire wellness program which includes mental health education to students, parents and faculty. We are proud to partner with CHOC, who has taken a leadership role in creating a national model of care for pediatric mental health. Apple Distinguished School with a 1:1 iPad Program
