MAYUR JAIN
Hello! I am Mayur Jain, a business graduate who realised half-way through his undergrad that his passion lies in designing spaces for others, and then went on to do that.
The one thing to know about me is that I like art, no matter how its packaged and presented. It could range from a movie to a song, from a novel to a comic book. Everything.

01. an
office
The project consists of a single-storey structure, measuring at approximately 2000 square foot of interior space, and the brief was to create and design an entertainment lawyer’s office for her and her four associates.
In terms of the style and the theme of the space, the office was styled with a fusion of vintage and contemporary design ideologies. The resultant space was perfect for business but at the same time, isn’t afraid of a little personality that comes up in the course of the job.

10. Server Room
11. Washroom
The office is divided in 3 different zones: the public, the semi private, and the private. The reception and the conference room is considered public space, as the clients are welcomed and serviced in these spaces. The associates’ workspace is a part of the semi private space, and the rest of the office is considered as off-limits fot the public.
The central courtyard serves as not only the crossroads, but also as a library and the secret entrance to the storage and server room

sectional elevations
The sectional elevation AA’ shows the associates’ workspace and the hidden storage. As it depicts, the space is finished with contemporary style but furnished with vintage furniture.
The central courtyard has a barrel-vaulted ceiling, and the light fixture compliments the central planter which serves as the centre of the crossroads, that the courtyard so represents.
The sectional elevation BB’ shows the conference room, and the reception desk. The wall of the conference room has a wallpaper with a mirror/whiteboard with a golden frame on it.
The wall behind the receptionist’s desk is a clever way to hide the bathroom door within the designed grooves of the space.
The sectional elevation CC’ reveals the conference room, the associates’ workspace and the head lawyer’s office. The use of wallpapers, vintage styled furnishing, and the colour palette solidifies the ethos of the design language of this space.
On the other hand, the section elevation DD’ shows the bathroom, a sneak-peak into kitchen and pantry, the print station, the bookshelf courtyard, and the reception and waiting area.
The colour treatments throughout the space gives the complementary colour scheme of shades and tints of blue and orange a satisfying application.
02. a spa-salon
december 2022
With a history spanning several centuries, the traditional salon, a gathering of people, was first seen in the 16th century Italy and France, where people gathered and discussed life, politics and poetry.
The modern day Salon has altered its definition to merely be a place of beauty. So this place was a medium to bring the traditional idea of the salon and integrate it with the modern usage of the salon.
Following the brief to create a spa and salon combo for the studio, this project was born out not just a way to re-instill the traditional way of doing things and marrying it with the modern technologies and ideologies, but also to make a space for men to have a safe space and a haven for them to relax and rejuvenate. Thus the name: The Gentlemen’s Club.
The design proposed is a vintage themed, menonly barbershop and sauna. Owing to its nature of a traditional salon and barbershop, the design style of this 4200 sqft, double storey space, borrows a few elements from gothic architecture and vintage interior design style. The resulting space is a twofloor “spalon” and club for men.
Picking up design ques from gothic architecture and vintage style, the entire space is furnished with old-school furniture, classic design pieces and a dark theme to invoke a feeling of a man-cave, befitting for someone like Bruce Wayne

The section shows the door treatments and the signature vintage touch to the furnishing of this space which only accentuates the core theme of the project, which is to bring back the old-time feel of a barbershop.

Meanwhile, this section speaks to the other half of the style equation, which is the influence of gothic and roman architecture. The corinthian columns, and the stained glass patterns mimics the features of the style and brings a balance to the vintage aesthetic.

SECTIONAL ELEVATION 2
The facade of the spalon cleverly showcases the overall style of the space, and creates an impression of what to expect from the space in the minds of the consumers.
The stone cladding and the use of carbed columns showcases the the inspiration from roman style of architecture, and the use of stained glass windows represents the Gothic Influence.

04. a residence
june 2023
This 5-bedroom, 2200 square feet apartment located in the heart of Shahibaug, is the first real-world project undertaken upon finishing the course. Taking cues from modern and neo-classical style of interior design, this house of five utilizes every square inch of space, all the while presenting the best version of itself, balancing the functionality and the vanity. The use of natural material palette, a distinct colour treatment, and warm ambiance, makes this home a testament to the fine line between the trends and the classics.
The living room, which is simplistic in design, but has a touch of luxury. The use of brass in the wall treatments, and the light fixtures, ties in with the space
The entry lobby has beautiful wallpaper adorning the walls as you enter. It sets the tone of the space and invites everyone with a warm vibe.
The TV wall houses, within its wooden flutes, a hidden door to the theatre. The use of marble and wood plays to the natural material palette of the house.
The adjoining dining space has a custom made wooden ceiling and lighting fixture which spirals in the path of the golden ratio.
The daughter’s bedroom carefully balances the aesthetics of quiet luxury with a bold colour scheme that showcases the personality of the owner and the space.
The master bedroom takes the quiet luxury approach. The use of stone, brass, and a textured wall finish, the space doesnt scream but oozes elegance.
The son’s bedroom takes the classic grid pattern and experiments with lights, creating a different ambience of the space.
The junior primary, on the other hand, plays with textures and finishes. The stone wall which complements the matte-finished wall has an interesting combination.
The kitchen is finished in a forest-inspired colour palette. The gallery layout helps in multitasking, and the quartz countertop helps lighten the space.
The study unit in the junior primary is built directly in an empty non-functional duct, thus helping in being secluded yet a part of the whole space.
The home theatre is a multifunctional space, serving both as a screening room and a spare bedroom for guests. The dark colour scheme aids the viewing experience.
The study in the son’s bedroom, on the other hand, has an intersting pattern that repeats everywhere in the bedroom: curves.
